The article read that on Sunday, Mar 03, 2013, Bailey O'Neill, a 12 year old from Darby Township, Pennsylvania died as a result from bullying.

Bailey, who was verbally abused and then punched in the face, suffered seizures after the attack and was put in a

medical induced coma.

I didn't finish that article. I couldn't. I was too angry.

Too many headlines, first paragraphs, stories, I have read on this subject.

I don't want to see these types of headlines any more.

I am saddened, I am compassionate, I am angry.

Actually, I am way pass anger. I am irate.

How many children need to be bullied before we act.

How many more children need to die as a result of bullying, either as a result of the attack or by their own hand because they can't take it anymore.

How many more parents need to bury their child before we finally say enough!

Get angry NOW. Do something NOW.

No more children need to be bullied.

We have it in us to make this change.

Empower your children at a young age.

Give them confidence, empathy and a voice.

Teach your child to do something if they see someone being bullied.

From fetching an adult, to saying NO, knock it off.

Teach them its not ok to see someone being bullied and to walk away without doing anything.

Parents teach your child its NOT ok to pick on someone.

That picking on someone is not acceptable.

Teach your children that their actions have consequences.

If they do wrong, don't defend them.

Teach your children how to take responsibility.for their actions.

Adults, if you see something brewing or about to happen, DO SOMETHING.

And if its not in you to do something, grab someone who will.

Let no one stand by and let this happen anymore.

Let it no longer be condoned, accepted or brushed off.

Its not children being children, kids being kids or a rite of passage.

It is BULLYING pure and simple and it needs to be stopped NOW!

Make a stand, draw a line in the sand, plant your feet.

Make today the day we say no more.

No more bullying.

Bring back kindness. Bring back empathy. Bring back humanity.

Its got to stop and it has to stop now. Before another child dies.

Life is like a cup of tea,
It's all in how you make it.
Lisa

...a tragedy and a TRAVESTY for sure! It ticks me off as well...where were the teachers? Bullying needs to be stopped. Teachers are responsible for their students while at school. Parents are responsible everywhere else...and parents need to be teaching their kids NOT to be a bully to other kids. This Bailey boy was far too young...his life had barely started, and now he will never get to experience the joy and beauty of the world.
