10 0|0|Ok, how many of you have ever heard of cellulitis? I had never heard of it until my GS got it. Is it common or is it rare?|Ranalt|ainebailey@gmail.com|13:42:09|02/27/2013|

if you get any kind of skin infection (he had impetego) and you don't treat it with antibiotics, you could get a bacteria infection - like step or staph infection which I believe is what cellulitis is. You can treat this with antibiotics too but its more serious that the skin wound or infection you originally had left untreated. 2|2|I had this in my ear once, made my whole jaw swell up as well. If you are a HONEST trader, there is nothing to fear in having a feedback link. If you do not have one, please set one up, BEFORE contacting me for a trade. If you insist on not having a feedback link, please do not contact me to trade. Feedback links protect all of us, on RS. Thanks for understanding. from the smallest cut or bite u might not even know u have and once u get it can return all the time
my son got this few years ago and now seems every summer when he is out coaching softball it will flair up and it will get a case of it again i think
from all the sand/dirt on the ball field must have soemthing to do with it if he has a tiny scratch
it can be very painful if not treated right away and spreads fast

long story short...started with lymphodema in november(cancer was 5 yrs ago)....have been trying to get it under control.....told hubby on a friday that my arm felt bruised...woke up the next morning with a 6 inch long, 1 inch wide red streak that was very warm....called gps, got antibiotic(bactrum)...woke up next am with hives on my face...took 5 doses, saw gp, got switched to diff antibiotic-hives and cellulitis both cleared up.....got done antibiotic and 2 days later full body hives, some 2 inches in diameter.....have been told I am going to be susceptable to the cellulitis with the lymphodema, and now seem to be allergic to the antibiotics due to the lymphodema...has been a long few months...I hope gs fairs well with the antibiotics.... 6|4|My Mom had in it her inner ear, very painful!|maddysmom|scarlett13@new.rr.com|22:43:43|02/27/2013|

My Mom is one tough cookie. She has a very high threshhold for pain and this really bothered her. She said her equilibrium was off and the area around her ear and jaw line was so tender if anything brushed against it (like her kitty)she almost jumped out of her chair. They put her on IV antibiotics on her first visit to kickstart treatent and then she had drops she had to put in her ear plus a prescription for antibiotics. It took about 2 weeks for it to clear up. 9|4|Ah Jodie, so sorry to hear of your recent cellulitis and hives. Praying this heals quickly and doesn't come back. |Ranalt|ainebailey@gmail.com|13:30:42|02/28/2013|

Smooches to those that sold our lifestyle for 12
minutes of fame. 8|1|Cellulitis is fairly common....it's a general term for irritation/inflammation/infection of the skin....happens when there is a break in the skin (rash, swelling, cut/scratch).....the pathogens get in there and cause a generalized reaction/infection...usually treated with Keflex (Cephalexin)|saint6811|waylan@comcast.net|12:14:40|02/28/2013|

10|2|Thanks everyone for your responses. I am the oldest of 5, cousin to many and been around kids all of my life. I can usually take one look at a kid and tell you what they have, but this Peri-Orbital Cellulits threw me. Never heard of it, ever. |Ranalt|ainebailey@gmail.com|13:33:51|02/28/2013|

And then to hear that it could spread to the brain, scared the crud out me.

Hope to never see it again!
