9 0|0|How can you tell if coupon does not double- new barcoding only?|gwkatt2|gwkatt2@hotmail.com|06:35:03|02/25/2013|

I have been surprised when some of the new barcoded coupons were not doubling.

There was no wording on coupon itself, but they automatically supressed doubling.

The old bar code - if coupon started with "9" you knew it would not double.

How can you tell in the new barcode? TIA. 1|1|Doubling? I'd be happy if they just scanned!!!|whitmarg|robin@whitmannet.com|10:26:52|02/26/2013|

Amazing that these things scan with no difficulty at CVS, but I have yet to find a grocery store where these new codes scan. It's ridiculous. 2|2|any answers out there?|pattyo|pattyolc@aol.com|11:35:32|02/26/2013|

they fixed their register scanners. Not all, some of self scan machines still do not work, but i know which one definately works, i keep using it. 4|1|A lot of coupons won't scan...|inthesticks|jbsimon@ymail.com|21:55:41|02/26/2013|

...at the registers. Cashiers must enter them manually. Not big deal to me, as long as they are accepted! LOL
5|2|some places will give you the coupons back if they won't scan and you are stuck paying full price for the item :(|lydzkydz|lydzmcss@yahoo.com|22:13:35|02/26/2013|

...and let the cashiers (or manager) know that the coupons are legitimate and just because they won't scan doesn't mean that the coupons cannot be input manually and used. 7|3|I am sorry. I HAVE to disagree....you NEVER EVER have to buy an item. IF they dont take your coupon and you don't want it at the full price all you have to say is "ok, take that off the order". ...the proper people (managers, supervisors, etc). They have the authority to override actions/policies that cashiers often do not have. Plus, many cashiers don't seem to be adequately trained on coupon use, which is amazing in itself. Remember, if you cannot learn to stand your ground and voice complaints in the places you shop, you deserve what you get as a result. It costs nothing to complain about a legitimate problem...and doing so helps keep retailiers watching their "Ps and Qs", and you just may inform someone in the process. 9|5|I was disagreeing with Lydia. She said they don't take your coupons and you have to pay full price. NO...you let them find it in the bag and take it off the order. |Barb09|Barb0969@AOL.com|12:11:04|02/27/2013|
