The mess that is on this page is truly disturbing. Is that true that some traders are stalking other traders? Online and/or offline?! If so, my trading days may be done here with the exception of the good friends I have made on here.
This isn't funny at all, it isn't entertaining and I'm sure it is disturbing to other traders here as well. I realize there was a trade gone wrong but this is out of hand with the stalking and driving past people's homes. If that is happening here then you are creating an environment where no good trader is going to feel safe. If all that was a just a joke then it wasn't funny at all and please turn on the TV if you need drama that much. 1|1|I don't think it was all you are imagining. From what I read the two live in the same area/near one another and one drove past another's house. And the comments escalated from there. Unless you trade with someone a few miles from your house I doubt anyone is driving by. I DO in fact trade with people in my city and the surrouding areas so, yes, I have had them p/u at my house or met them out at the store. AND if they drove by I wouldn't be shocked and creating drama. I read the long thread as the "you drove by my house" is just a diversion to get focus off a feed back post that has MANY serious reports of bad trades to which the answer is always "you are a liar" and now in addition to accusing others of lying she is diverting attention to say someone drove past her house. Cinda, if that stops you trading.....that is your perogative. I seriously doubt traders from other states have the time or incentive to come see your home. Although wih googe earth out there if you share your address ANYONE CAN see your house...from their livngroom. Not sure why anyone would WANT to do so...but they can. Personally, I don't even keep an address book. That is why I ask for addresses every time someone trades with me. Barb, I hear ya and there are a few great traders on here, including you, that I would love to have lunch with if I could. It really sounds like fun to meet with other traders with whom you have a good rapport. That is dramatically different than having a problem with a trader and driving past their home. I have no clue if that really happened but what bothered me was the malicious intent and further comments that took it all so lightly. I know it all escalated and the fire was fueled by traders who had a problem in the past with the same trader, as much as I can tell.
As far as me trading, that whole mess alerted me to steer clear of more than just one trader. I'm with Jilda on the trade that was described, she is a great and kind trader and from what I can tell, she did nothing wrong. All that aside, what bothered me was the nasty comments about driving past houses and the like and the comments about how it was all so funny. It just isn't.
I've seen certain members on this board encourage and push for this malicious junk before and I just hate seeing it. If feedback and checking bad traders lists isn't enough then clearly the person just has a vendetta. Understandable if you were taken for a large trade and I know there are horrible traders who do just that but you don't become a criminal to beat one. I'd hate to get on the bad side of some of the traders seeing the way they behave. And I just know if I trade with one like that...there won't mutual kindness or goodwill.
I don't keep an address book either as I only need it for the current trade and it has been given to me for that purpose only. Just how I feel about it and I know others do keep one but I really have no time for it and see no need for it. I don't think anyone is driving past my house but to imply that it is alright and even humorous is well, frankly, creepy. If after reading feedback, here or otherwise and checking bad traders lists and you don't feel comfortable...then don't trade with that person.
