nursing home care..........they are telling her today that she needs to go to nursing home...her poor husband has been waiting on pins and needles for her to come home........its been a month now since she got sick.......
he is nearly blind.....cant drive anymore....only son was killed in november in a motorcycle crash.....one
grandkid lives in nashville.....and the other one lives here.....but she is worthless as......... , ill leave that up to your

imagination....she hasnt even called him but once since her grandmother went in hospital...came to house once..to see if my aunts check
was there..so had it been left up to her...he could be dead and rotten and she wouldnt know......

i live down the road so i took over the job of checking on him...getting him what grocerys he needs...and taking him
his supper every nite..my husband took over the job of keeping him in firewood,,ect......the grandson at nashville has never once called him or checked on him during the month

so now the drs have said she needs 24 /7 care.......my uncle cant take care of her....i cant..i have bad back and heart problems.
my other aunt is 65,,has bad back...so now we have the problem of what to with my uncle......he has cancer and severe heart problems.......
so im afraid to tell him what the drs plans are for her......sooo.......i guess we get the job of doing that probably tomorrow....

so everyone please say a little prayer that things go smoothly when the drs tell my aunt that she isnt coming home
and pray that when we tell my uncle..he wont have a heartattack........

such a mess............ 1|1|sorry to hear|joseph|parkerjoe3@yahoo.com|17:17:22|02/12/2013|

about thisit's something to think about when you get older.I cared for my mom when she had cancer and i know it was hard.maybe tell him she will be looked after and can visit when ever he wants. You know social security doesn't cover any nursing home costs.Might be better to be poor then to pay out who knows how much. you can only do so much so hope things work out. 2|2|I will pray|angNC|memawang@nc.rr.com|23:30:26|02/12/2013|

Nursing homes aren*t cheap. But some states have programs like this. Maybe him and her would go together to nursing home. I have a case like that here in my town. Luckily they had nursing home insurance for years. He*s 94 and she is 85. She still drives, has her own van at nursing home. He loves it there. Alot of his old time buddies are there . I will pray for you,as it does put a burden on you. Talk to social worker. Our nursing home has an office worker thats helps to find programs to help pay. 4|2|Prayers going up..|pattyo|pattyolc@aol.com|03:55:27|02/13/2013|

if your uncle can no longer care for himself, he sounds like a nursing home
candidate himself. In this way they could stay together. I believe some
NH's even allow married couples to room together. Otherwise, your uncle
may be able to get some home health covered to try and keep him in his home.

We took care of my grandmother as long as we could as she wanted to stay
in her home. However, when my Dad was mugged & assaulted in Walgreen's
parking lot picking up her prescriptions...we felt it was not safe for us
to keep things going for her at home any longer.

Talk to both the hospital AND NH social workers. They handle these
type of situations every day and will give you practical advice.

Prayers for you & your family.

neighbor is 90. she has a girl come twice a week to run errands, help put out the garbage etc. They can't cook. One woman gets Meals on Wheels and both are lucky enough to have relatives who help out some.

I am in a wheelchair but I can stand at times, briefly, so I can cook. I just can't walk. I make soup and cookies once a week and give the ladies in my building some of what I make and it is a joy. I feel so badly for them as they are limited.
