I am wondering if the information can be used to find out more about us and possibly cause identiy theft.

I just give my actual day but use another year. As long as you are older than what the requirements are - don't figure I will win anything big though.

If the sweepstakes is legit, being sponsored by a well known company, I don't see a reason to be afraid of giving out your real info. I've been entering sweeps for years and never had a problem.

I would hate to win a huge prize and then be disqualified for giving false information on the entry form. The bigger prizes are going to need you to notarize an affy with your social security number as well. Then you will get a 1099 for tax purposes to report the winnings as income. I've won lots of things, the most being 10,000 cash and I've had to notarize for most prizes over $600.
