~ 3|1|Most Connecticut supermarkets double up to .99 cents. We have Shoprite, who doubles up to 4 like coupons, Big Y who doubles up to 5 like coupons, and Stop and Shop whos policy is doubling up to 4 like coupons, but mine lets me use as many as I want. Not sure they all do that. The SS coupons, tend to stick in this area, value wise. Mostly 1.00 off two or more, so I find I trade for better values, off one, for things I use a lot. Hope this helps. If you are a HONEST trader, there is nothing to fear in having a feedback link. If you do not have one, please set one up, BEFORE contacting me for a trade. If you insist on not having a feedback link, please do not contact me to trade. Feedback links protect all of us, on RS. Thanks for understanding. I live in MA...(Cape Cod area)...and there is a Walgreens, CVS and the grocery stores such as Stop and Shop and Shaws do double. However, things are pretty pricey in my area and the jobs in my area are pretty scarce unless you want to commute back and forth to Boston.....(a total traffic nightmare and super expensive if you decide to take the T daily). Also, rebates are HORRID in this state, never any great NPBN rebates....there used to be some great ones years ago, but they've pretty much disappeared.

In addition, not too pleased with our state government (Devol Patrick, Warren, etc). And honestly, if my husband didn't have a family business in this state, I would have moved a LOOOOONG time ago.

All in all, I personally would not recommend anyone move to Massachusetts, and I've lived her a good portion of my life.

and the taxes were just horrible. We had to pay vehicle tax to the city and all kinds of other fees. Even though we only rented, didn't own property. Totally horrible. AND they made us mail our car plates back and until we did we were charged resident taxes. 6|2|those northern states will be more expensive... |sneakers1234|ross417@msn.com|10:35:57|01/26/2013|

store wise you get Kroger not shure on the regional chains. If you locate near Lexington you would have access to doctors from University of Kentucky. If you go toward Louisville. You would be near a cluster of other cities. Paducah Bowling Green. If you are on the south west side of Louisville you would be just a few hours fron Nashville and Vanderbilt who's medical center is one of the top medical facilities in the country. Kentucky also rates very high in quality of life. When I retire I am definitely leaving the north east. I lve in the city of Schenectady which boasts the highest taxes in the nation.

Very true that Ky does have a lower cost of living than the northeastern states......sadly, the average pay is also lower but health insurance is not. I've heard many people who move into KY complain about the taxes we pay in all the extra places..... your water bill, utility bill, to name a few. We also get to pay annual car taxes based on the state's suggested "value" of the vehicle (if I could sell my vehicle for that...I'd be selling it every year!)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_U.S._states_by_income According to wikipedia... KY is ranked 47th in median income as well as per capita income.

On the plus side: Most Kroger stores double up to .50 (individual stores differ on how many coupons are allowed)...I've heard some stores around Cincinnati double up to .99 (not sure if this is true). Meijer doubles up to .50 and limits to 2 "like coupons" doubled per person....so 2 of every coupon WILL double...the next will be only face value.

Also a plus: We are apparently mainly a NBPN rebate state!!! Which can make for some money back on the non-coupon items: meat, salty snacks, water, gift cards (at Christmastime), pizza, and general grocery sometimes. The drawback.... I have no idea WHERE the forms can be found. If it weren't for the wonderful traders here, I'd never be able to take advantage of them!

I don't know what job you'd be looking into...but, like anywhere else, they aren't always easy to find and less and less companies are hiring full time workers with benefits. Most have opted for part-time employees to avoid paying for their healthcare. I'm not sure about the more eastern side of the state---which is mainly more rural than where we live near Louisville, but most jobs seem to be nearer the cities and gas can make commuting an expensive hassle.

But the "Moonshiners" TV show may have openings for our area of Appalachia..... heehee. Just kidding!
