I find it VERY interesting that the Post Office is always LOSING money and raising the prices, but they can spend $40 million on promoting athletes like Lance Armstrong! And what about advertising on TV? What does THAT cost? LOTS!! Why do they even have to advertise? Everyone knows they are there! I can see if they have a new product or service, like when they started having flat rate boxes, but that is old news! What a farce! 1|1|I wouldn't mind it IF|angNC|memawang@nc.rr.com|14:32:52|01/20/2013|

"At the very end of that year, Congress passed the Postal Accountability and Enhancement Act of 2006 (PAEA). Under PAEA, USPS was forced to “prefund its future health care benefit payments to retirees for the next 75 years in an astonishing ten-year time span” — meaning that it had to put aside billions of dollars to pay for the health benefits of employees it hasn’t even hired yet, something “that no other government or private corporation is required to do.” 3|1|Post office-I got another waste of money for ya|hudge4|hudge95@yahoo.com|21:17:13|01/20/2013|

I do mystery shopping and the PO mystery shops their offices-some weekly, some monthly-depending on the senario.

Seems like a huge waste of money to me. If they are so in the red, raising postage and threatening to stop delivering on Sat, why not stop the advertising and the mystery shopping? Is it really necessary to test their staff weekly? In my opinion, no!

And how about those thousands of dollars spent supporting Lance Armstrong? Never could figure out why they were involved in that type of thing anyway... United States Post Office????
