Just ignore this if you don't need or want to read either.

Advice: Don't use the TO and FROM labels provided by the U.S. Postal Service. Apparently they are to close together for the scan to read the package correctly.
Vent: Even though I have almost perfect handwriting on my package, it has been bouncing back and forth between two sorting facilities in Wisconsin ALL WEEK.

Advice: Mail Christmas packages early!!!!!!!
Vent: Even though it says "Priority 2-3 days" I figured with the holidays 4-5 days would be acceptable/understandable. I have NO idea when my friend is going to get her package, at this point.

Advice: Get the local number of your post office, any way possible.
Vent: When you call the 1-800 number on the website, you do NOT get to talk to an acutal person. That is not even an option.

Advice: Get delivery confirmation AND a receipt. Check the delivery confirmation number yourself within 2 days of being sent.

I am a very detail oriented person. Stuff like this DRIVES me NUTS!!!!! I dont like feeling like I have to 'baby-sit' other people while they do THEIR job.

ONE happy note: The clerk at my LOCAl post office is VERY helpful courteous, friendly, and knowledgeable. I am so thankful for that!!! All of this mess is NONE of her fault, but she is helping the best she can to correct it.

I feel sorry for the people who work at the Post Office. (the ones who care about doing a good job) Talk about extreme frustration with the entire system!

My son is on a base in Texas. I sent him a package priority, was suppose to be there on the fifteeth, as of yesterday he didn't get the package or any cards or the other small package I sent him. Now the post office on base is shut down for Christmas, and his dining hall is shut down. I paid a lot to make sure he got it on time and feel I sent early enough.
