I haven't posted in eons, but from time to time I come over and read your posts and there are many of you that I think about often. In fact you are who I think of when I need a friend.
Last year when my youngest was in Kindergarten I spent a lot of time in her classroom as a volunteer and over that I got to know quite a few of the kids. One of them is a shy, kind of bouncy little boy named Zenith. He's just a really sweet kid.
This week he was rushed to a children's hospital across the state and they just diagnosed leukemia. His parents are pretty low income and he has a little brother. They are all in Portland, at least for another week while "Z" as he is known by his friends gets chemo treatments. They think that he should be able to come home in a week, which is terrific, and it sounds like most of his future treatments will be outpatient, but it looks like those treatments will be hundreds of miles away so friends are trying to raise money for his family to help cover expenses.
I know money is tight, but if you can donate $1 or $2 even, I know it will help them. It will also help them see that a lot of people care about them, which is pretty good medicine in its own right. Prayers and good throughts are equally appreciated. Thank you. Vanessa

spent a lot of time at Saint Jude when I was a kid, my uncle who was the same age as my brother was there for treatments before he died. My best frieds little one also passed from leukemia a few years back. It is such a hard diagnosis for the family. Praying he has the easier form to cure, it is much more treatable than it was 30 years ago.
Will you send me an address. Maybe I can send a gas card or something in a couple of weeks.
