my husband works out of the carpenters union......so each yr...we have some..Laid off time.............last yr they screwed it up so bad they had

his wages as being sent into the TN system instead of ky.......it took us almost a month and half before we got a check........he got laid off a few wks ago.......we signed up

and everything went smoothly.......then last time with his check it showed he needed to report in..........so we go to report........and now with the WAITING WEEK law

here in ky........when he reports she tells him.....this times check he wont be paid but for ONE wk ..instead of two........and told us to call it in today

we tried to call it in........it says he hasnt been off long enough( mind u hes been off for over a month) ..and says we cannot call it in till dec 20...........soooooo now this means

a 30 mile drive one way to sit in the office and HOPE they are smart enough to put it in the system......like she SUPPOSEDLY did last wk!!!!!!!!!!!!!! bills are due......

christmas is coming and they are screwing us around again.............. 1|1| I agree Ky is worst this year.|nut|lisa12780@hotmail.com|10:59:10|12/10/2012|

I agree with you on unemployment this year,I get it every year,I work in greenhouse's.Don't like the one check thing because I will never get the one check because I'll be back to work before I get it.Had to do a resume class (told them I'm going back in Jan) the say you still have to do it.But like how you can do your job searchs reviews on line and not waste gas going in a reporting them. Did you notice the amount of your check when down, lost $39 from last year.Say wage benefit went down.

I would like to comment on a couple of points on your post. Unemployment benefits are paid into the system by the employers. If they paid it into TN, it
was not your local office's fault. The system has been in the red for years now. All the states are making new rules to make people jump thru more hoops to get benefits, not just Ky. I agree, that waiting week is totally unfair. But again many states have had that rule for years. Most of the offices are so understaffed and the workers have so much on them. And the public suffers for it. Please keep in mind that these workers have a job to do and have a boss, so they have to make you do what you are suppose to do, even if they may not agree with it themselves. The system does have a
lot of problems. The powers that be need to be working out in the field and see how it effects the public. The best advice i can give anybody is pay
attention to your instructions. That's the one thing people do that mess themselves up the most. 3|2|we pay into them here in pa|cinda68|lacinda68@gmail.com|15:48:57|12/10/2012|

That is illegal for an employer to take it out of your check. You need to report them to the Department of Labor. This law is federal, all states are
the same on this. 6|4|3 states including mine deduct it|cinda68|lacinda68@gmail.com|18:56:29|12/10/2012|

In the majority of States, benefit funding is based solely on a tax imposed on employers. (Three (3) States require minimal employee contributions.) 5|1|I know it is hard....|Quietwaters|Quietwaters39@hotmail.com|18:27:17|12/10/2012|

but if your work is seasonal and you know there is a chance of lost work in the winter, if you can learn to not count on it, then it just seems like a bonus when you get it. My husband is also in the constrution field, so you never know, some winters he will work all the way through, some not. So we live on less during the summer months, and put away for the winter. We also stock up on groceries, then come January we start cleaning out the deep freeze and pantry.

Hope you are able to get your checks rolling in soon. Our frustration is them requiring you to use the computer or the phone, there always seems to be some glich, when you know if you could only talk to a real person, they know what you need to do with whatever situation, but isn't that now the frustration with a lot of agencies or companies, they want to eliminate staff.

as for the other poster stating it was the employers mix up not the umemployment department.......actually it was the umemployments fault

she said it was paid into ky....which was correct.....and for some unknown reason...they transferred it to TN....cause he worked over in tn.......and then when we filed

it was such a mess it took us forever to get it straight........and they had to have it transferred back into ky....

in our umemployment office......it seems that theres a lot of workers standing around talking..ect...and few others who are actually doing their jobs
