Jack (acually my Great Uncle) got a card over a year ago from someone and my aunt kept saying how much it made him smile. Jack was semi mobile then. We decided ( my mom and me "Jack's Cheerleaders") to send him a card. He took this card and hid it under his leg so my aunt wouldn't take it. This inspired us to send him .... a card a week. Jack doesn't say much but holds dear to his cards. They are kept in a basket and sometimes he just gets them out. We decided it would be cute to put a cute stamp on the card. When my aunt showed him the stamp, he would not let her throw away the envelope. This inspired us to buy stickers and decorate his envelopes. He keeps them all.
Jack doesn't move his legs, can move his arms and doesn't really speak. His weekly cards make him smile. We started this for Jack but my aunt also looks forward to these cards. She is Jack's caretaker 99% of the time. She has someone come watch him for 3 or 4 hours ONE day a week so she can go out to eat with her sisters and do what we call their "goodwill runs".
I do not know for sure how Jack is...In his 70's. He has been fighting this for about 10 years.
His Birthday is December 15th. I would like to ask anyone who can to please send him a card. I know it would warm his heart and if you wouldn't mind, give a shout out to Aunt Kitty and their dog Joey (she is a girl). If you don't have a birthday card any will card will do. If you have stickers , I know he would love that too.

My Grandmother just called...my Aunt called her and said something was going on - she got ten cards for Jack's B-Day and didn't know where they were coming from!!! I hadn't told either of them!!! lol She said she read every one to him and he brightened up SO much! He is holding on...to all ten!!!
