It hit mine this morning. They changed the scanners in order to accept the new bar codes on some coupons..... however, if the coupon does not scan or comes back reading "Coupon Pending" they will NOT accept it. No matter what the coupon reads, or if the bar codes match or anything. The cashiers no longer have the option of "pushing through". I received 4 coupons from a vendor doing a demo this morning..... proceeded to get the items and guess what? The coupons rang up as "coupon pending" and the GM refused to take them. So I said, let me get this right... you allow people to come into your store and "sell" new products for you and hand out coupons for the item however since the coupon does not scan I can't use it? He apologized over and over again but refused to accept the coupons even though the demo was still going on inside of the store at the time of checkout! It's crazy! Walmart is going to lose a lot of MY business because of this. How is it the customers fault that a coupon they are giving out doesn't scan? I mean I understand all of the issues with copied coupons, counterfit coupons, and even people using coupons on the wrong product but I had the correct product, the upc numbers matched, and they were given to me in store so????????????????????? Whatever Walmart.

they are not (SUPPOSED) to take it.....i was told they couldnt push them thru..........but i know for a fact that it is a flat out lie that they cant push the coupon thru............

phone calls!! That is the ONLY thing besides not shopping there of course they recognize. The loss of the almight dollar is the ONE thing that gets their attention. They keep advertising we take coupons but then not accepting them..can you say 'bait & switch"? (so to speak).. They need to KNOW we are not going to shop there if they are not consumer & coupon friendly. And Kathy, bait & switch is EXACTLY right. They have a demo for a product, give out coupons then refuse to take them? Not happening! I will not buy anything they won't allow my coupons to be used on. No matter where I get them.... newspaper, internet, or demos, if I calculate my shopping trip with the coupons and they don't go through they WILL take the item off and I WILL leave it there. I'd rather pay a higher price at Publix and be able to use my $1.00 off coupon and only save .50 cents than to GIVE Walmart .50 cents.
