Planned a camping trip for sat-monday.. it stormed sat so we planned on sun am...my dh was getting camper ready when he heard our cat crying, found our 10 yr old tiger cat crying loudly in much pain, he brought him in the house, he couldn't move his hind legs & he was in great distress. We have an emergency vet close by thank God...he knew right away what the problem was by the coldness in the cat, blood clot! He had always had an irregular heart beat & he said he had seen this many times...we had to put him down right then...brought him home to our pet cemetary....very sad....BUT we still went camping AND halfway there stopped for a bite to eat....we LOOK into the camper window & low & behold is our OTHER cat has STOWED away....agghh i was fit to be tied...this one likes to be outside all the time, now what to do?? Went into the closest store & bought litter & food! He was content for two days but the third nite he got out...agghhh....after ten mins he came to our neighbor camper & we were able to get him back in but he was NOT happy!!! Kept us awake most of the nite crying to go back out...Was happy once we got up!!! It was such a relief to get home.................

Life is not the way it's supposed to be. It's the way it is. The way we cope is what makes the difference.

Sorry to hear about the loss of your cat. We took our cat camping twice last year.
No problem with the truck ride. Thought we should get a harness, but that was a
waste of mney because she wanted nothing to do with the outside. Only problem I
could see was that she didnt sleep alot. She ate ok and used litter box. She's
16 so I wasn't sure how she would take 3-4 days camping. 3|2|I am soooooo sorry for your loss.. I lost my beautiful Abyssinian to the same disease|pattyo|pattyolc@aol.com|06:40:02|09/13/2012|

Its called Saddle Thrombus. Painful as it is and no cure, you did the right thing. So very heartbreaking...

We camp too and can you believe I take 5 felines camping with us? They do well, and some go in and out but always stay close to our Motor home. I guess they know where the love and food is.If they wander..they're back pretty fast. Again, my heart goes out to you for your loss.

PLEASE INCLUDE USERNAME WHEN INQUIRING ABOUT FORMS IF I DON'T KNOW YOU..THANKS
