ok..I have got to tell you guys this....
kinda long....but crazy.
Haley was in 9th grade last year... they put her in all accelerated classes...which I wasn't happy about.
I just thought it would be too much..to hard..especially with all of the classes... She struggled on some,
threw some tantrums...LOL BUT she ended the year with all A's and one B thru out the year.. SO yes, she could
do it...Just tough at times.
SO last year when it was time to pick classes for this year..I told her only 1 accelerated class... SO at the end
of the year when we had to sign the papers etc as parents, she comes home with ALL accelerated classes...I call the
school talk to the counselor and say..No..just one.. AND then there was the online classes...she was suppose to
have one this semester and one next semester...SO coming back from WV one week before school starts this year..we
go to back to school day..blah blah..go to get her schedule.. Haley Smallwood.. BIG blank paper..with notes.. Problem with
schedule..Oh mY gosh...LOL SO after calls, and meetings...AND I wasn't too happy with the schedule. She
ended up having 2 online classes this semester...so she goes to school like 9:10 till 12:40. CRAZY esp for me.
BUT anyways...that was doable...BUT Then...they didn't have room for her 3 choices of the one extra class she wanted..SO
they put her in debate...SHE hates, hates, hates it. She is backward, and quiet..(like me..NOT LOL) BUT anyways..
she came home really upset 3 days in a row..and I'm like this is crazy. LONG LONG story.. but yesterday..the teacher
called her up in front of the class and wanted her to debate with someone about the politics going on today with
obama etc. I will be totally honest..our house we are not political..we don't talk much about it..I don't know who's
who, where, what etc. Just dont go there. .. BUT anyways.. teacher says to start you have 7 minutes..she says,
i really don't know what to say or where to start..He says, fine I'll give you an F for this assignment..SO i pick her up
she's upset, hates school, stupid people, says teacher made her look stupid.. BLAH.. SO..I pick up the phone and go crazy..
LOL the principal knows me from "travis" days..and he's so nice..AND he lets me go off for like 5 minutes..AND I say it's hard
enough to have her go to school cause she has no friends, she has a bad body image..etc..AND he's like..your a great mom...AND I'm
like HELLO are you listening to me ..and he's like Yes... SO anyways...we talk and i tell him the situation how she's not good
in public situations etc..and how i know she needs to get used to it..blah blah blah.. BUT she didn't pick this class, and how out of 3 classes
she picked she didn't get....He says, I'll get back with you in just a bit...
SO NOW to my second problem..I posted about the Biology help I needed...WELL she just was not getting this class...3 tests in 3 days... 3 D's..
and she's like I just don't understand nothing....and the teacher says'..."YOU" all should know all of this from last year? SO I talk to
haley yesterday in her dramatic state..YES< she had Biology and Debate both yesterday..and she's like..I hate school and blah blah blah..
SO..I emailed the Biology teacher and she calls me back within an hour.. and shes like I just don't understand why haley is failing these
tests...she reviewed haley's school records, she's been a straight A student and blah blah blah.. AND I'm like I dont' understand..Haley
works and works and works, and she's just not understanding what's going on ....SO she's like..Well haley needs this credit to graduate next year..
and I'm like..Haley doesn't graduate next year..she's only a sophomore...so then theres this long pause..AND she says.. Then why is haley in
Accelerated Biology II...AND I'm like what? AND then she's like..oh my god..I think we placed her in the wrong classroom... YEP..NO wonder she
doesn't understand anything..she's never even had biology 1 yet and they have her in a 11th grade accelerated Biology class...GRRR GRRR GRRR
SO she says, she'll talk to the counselor, the principal...etc....principal calls me back..apologizes...and says, i can't believe no one caught this..
I said..well they didnt' have her schedule done on time.. then they put her in to two online classes she wasn't suppose to have...and then..
she came in last week and they re did the schedule..and it's been a mess since then.. SO he says.. normally after 2 weeks..they wont make changes..BUT
as of today...she doesn't have Debate...and she doesn't have the biology class....SHE has music as her extra class..and she's going to be in normal
10th grade Biology. The teacher is going to have her come in a few days in the morning, to get caught up.. SIGH...I know this is long.BUT man,
did I go thru this yesterday. MAN I really talked a lot in this post didn't I? I need a friend...LOL Ok..I'm done..not sure why I wanted to get this
all out.. BUT It did make feel better....

That is such a hard age to be and to have a parent who will stand up for you is everything! I hate that the school put Haley in a situation where she felt less than the other kids. The positive is that now she can hopefully see that it wasn't her at all, it was that they made a big error!
Will you please tell her that I think she is gorgeous (your whole family is beautiful!), smart and terrific.
Take her out for a milkshake or something and have a little relaxation time before you leave for home. Something like that would be good for both of you! V.
