6 0|0|Anyone know of a charity that helps people buy a power wheelchair? Medicare and insurance will only pay|lv2qpon|jcummins1@rochester.rr.com|17:04:47|08/20/2012|

$4000.00. The other $1000.00 isn't covered. That is an approximate estimate, power chairs run about $5000.00.
It wouldn't help to get a used one as they want $1000.00 or more and there is no servicing if a used one is purchased. 1|1|Dont know any but suggestion.......|melpaul|Melpaul199@aol.com|20:35:08|08/20/2012|

3|2|I just thought of it now, but call your local hospitals, some of them have programs(privatly funded by donations) to help people with these kind of issues|HONEY11|HONEY1@AMERITECH.NET|22:58:51|08/21/2012|

I have called the United Way before and they weren't very helpful. 5|4|forgot to say you do not need to be a patient of the hospital for them to help, they have helped someone I knew in the past with a new .Prosthetic|HONEY11|HONEY1@AMERITECH.NET|16:18:58|08/22/2012|

my suggestion would be to see if you have a local Shriner's branch or Scottish Rite. Also, check your local family serivce agency and/or salvation army. Although these charity may not be able to assist you if you ask them questions about other charities available you may just find one that is local. Also, too look to your bigger churches in your area and call them. You'd be surprised that they may be able to help with part of it.
