This trade was NOT made here. It was NOT an RS member. Please lmk what you would do next.
I received a message that the person wanted Planters coupons. Total was $.93.
She wrote back and said add one to it and make it a straight $1 trade.
That night she asked me to add 8 Ocean Spray fruit snack coupons to the envelope.
I sent a new total of $1.33 (which was too low.....I forgot we made it $1, but I let it go)
That night I got the trade together...and realized the Ocean Spray weren't in the insert we just got...and I had to look for them.
I mailed the Planters the next day (she needed for a sale this week) and looked for the Ocean Spray.
I mailed the Ocean spray separately this morning (we live within 50 miles of each other all trades arrive in one day). I now paid .90 in postage for a $1.33 trade, but, that is my fault/problem as I decided to mail the other coupons to get them going.
I got a message today that says the envelope arrived without the ocean spray so, please return ALL her $1.33 and if I want the Planters back she will mail them to me.
The end.
Now, here is my take. I have no problem returning the .33 for the Ocean Spray fruit snacks. That was my judgement call...and my decision to mail them separately. (within a day of each other though).
The original trade was made 8/9 (evening, couldn't be mailed until 8/10). It is 8/13 and she wants a FULL refund. But the $1 worth of coupons she ordered she received next mailing day!!!
What is the right thing to do? I always try to be fair and take small losses sometimes in postage or whatever. But I don't think someone that receives their coupons they ordered should be demanding a full refund.

2|1|I will just say what I would do, if was me in this situation. I think she got all of the coupons she ordered, well BEFORE the two weeks standard wait time. Things have happened to me, sometimes a trade goes out a day later, and given the reason, yours did(you were concerned about her making the sale) I would have not said a word, and understood.......but that is me. So honestly, I do not think she deserves a refund at all. She got her coupons promptly, just in two different envelopes. Now because of who I am, I would also give her the .33 for the ocean spray, even if I did not totally agree with it, in the name of keeping the peace. Did you communicate with her the details as you posted here?
As far as I can see, she made 2 separate transactions with you. She does owe for the Planters. If she does not receive the Ocean Spray within a reasonable time then you owe her for those. However, not enough time has passed for her to even consider asking for a refund and certainly not for the entire amount.
One day is not guaranteed with the Post Office even if you are only 50 miles away.
4|2|The trade was Friday, I mailed the Planters Sat, she received today. I mailed the Ocean Spray this morning...she SHOULD receive tomorrow. And yes, we are talking about a trade that was made 3-4 days ago. Generally speaking, trades within northerni IL do make it within the next day. (from experience). So, no she didn't receive the Ocean Spray yet. I mailed them today (next mail day since I mailed the Planters). WELL within the 1-2 day mailing standard. and like 10 days before the 2 week mark. I wrote back offering the .33 if she wants to return the Ocean Spray coupons. She said if she gets them tomorrow she will keep them. And has now agreed to keep the Planters (she ordered and received within 1 mailing day!!) I appreciate the input. I wouldn't refund anything at this point. You sent out the coupons she requested and accepted less for them than planned.

refund the 33¢ for the OC coupons since she did receive the Planters ones. She can not
return the Planters since they are what she ordered. It's pretty nervy of her to think
that was even an option.
