I swear if it isn't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all. The van is having problems again and goes in the shop tomorrow to see what's wrong with it. I wish we could find a reliable vehicle and make payments on it, that would sure help. I've been so stressed out lately and for a few weeks I was really ill, just felt so bad that it scared me, I just can't afford anymore dr bills, it sucks without insurance...I'm sorry I just need to vent, I know there's others going through so much too and I pray for you all. I feel for you. We made our last payment last month on the van and the extended warranty ended... a couple days later, the check engine light came on. Luckily Autozone will scan to see what the problem is... turns out it's something they told us we can fix... now once I get $70 for the part....I'm going to give car repair a shot! What the heck! Might as well try it all! Because you know it's going to cost hundreds and hundreds of dollars to fix otherwise... and I just don't have it.
Also avoiding the doctor, I have insurance, but can't afford the time off from work or the copays right now. I have this horrible feeling it's something that is going to need surgery yet again.... this surgery once a year thing is getting old... and so are the medical bills that come with it.
I totally understand where you are coming from. I wish you guys the best.

o Because I have been self employed since 2007 and independent comractor making less then 10,000 a year I didn't need to file taxes so therefore they said I don't qualify to apply for ssd,as no taxes were paid to the state, however they said I could apply for ssi if I have a condition that will last more then 12 months, I just got denied ssi and they said 90% of all people who apply get denied the first time. I need to get approved for ssi to get the medical card from public aid as public aid said they will not approve medical card without approval from ssi first as they use their decision to deny or approve help. I am legally blind here but fall through a loop hole as public aid only gives to people who have children under the age of 18, or people that are 65 and over and that does not apply to me. Edited this to add I am in the process of appealing soc securitys decision.

o from there. I was really shocked when she called me and told me that she received a call from the governor and was told to help me through the process of getting help from public aid. It does help writting these people in office! bf suggested that I write pat quinn(governor)and I am glad I did. It took me a couple of days to put it all together with dates that I tried countless times to contact public aid and could not talk to a live person at the office nor in springfield. Very frustrating! And no idea about my application, which was denied as they sais I missed a phone interview which I was home all day for and no one called, so missed out on food stamps. Bekka if you need help doing this lmk, I will walk you through it as I am doing it all now myself. Stinks a person has to fight for what they need, but it is what it is.
