Apparently, Fedex drops packages for rural areas at the Post Office, instead of delivering them. This saves them time and money, but it is then the responsibility of the postal service to deliver them. Our postal carrier does not have the space in his car for big boxes, and therefore can't bring them!! The boxes have already been delayed because of this, and yet the post office has been PAID to deliver, and it should be within 24 hours! I PAID for shipping, and now I am told, that if I want this stuff I have to go and GET it, and soon, before they send it back! How is this right or fair? PLEASE be aware of this when ordering from a retail website, if you live outside of town, and request UPS only, or this could happen to you.
UPS does not do this, so stick with them!!

Many small post office locations in rural communities are being closed by the Gov't, so what then???

when I tracked it online, it mentioned that it had been to a couple of post offices between there and here. Thought it was strange, but sure enough postman delivered it. Must be their new way to do things.

FedEx SmartPost
When it comes to low-weight shipping for residential customers, consider the efficient, economical FedEx SmartPost service. By utilizing the U.S. Postal ServiceŽ for final delivery, FedEx SmartPost reaches every U.S. address, including P.O. boxes and military APO, FPO and DPO destinations

Smartpost takes forever and if given the option, don't ship via smartpost at all. It isn't the regular fedex service, altogether a different program. 7|2|That makes sense.|SandyC|sacoates1@msn.com|21:13:15|07/28/2012|
