lemon scented dish soap, not antibacterial, just put a squirt in your water can and fill full with water. This works for lots of bugs in the garden and is my first go to.

That's interesting about using the lemon.. I've always used Antibacterial soap, water and a hint of cooking oil.. The cooking oil helps to make the spray stick to the plant and not run off as well as smother the bugs... but i'll try the lemon:) I've also used Seven.

4|2|I get Japanese beetles some years, and used a solution I found online....blue Dawn dishsoap, cayenne pepper, and water...I mixed it concentrated in my sprayer that attaches to the hose and then sprayed it on the plants at 30% concentration rate.....killed them off and kept them from coming back for awhile too (the solution sticks to the plants and the cayenne seems to repel them).|saint6811|waylan@comcast.net|14:45:48|07/03/2012|

so I never used it again, but maybe I had the concentration too strong for that type of soap. Been using Joy or Ajax lemon for over 25 years,I have never put anything else on my garden

6|1|I used to use Onion salt on my vegetable plants, that might keep the bugs away. |lv2qpon|jcummins1@rochester.rr.com|17:11:27|07/05/2012|
