We're currently under a Heat Advisory w/temps in the upper 90's w/high humidity & high dew pts. making it feel 100-105°. Apparently, it's supposed to hang around thru the week. :(
I pray we don't get any nasty storms but if we don't get some rain pretty soon, everything is going to burn up in this heat. Haven't mowed in 2 wks. Don't dare cuz the grass is already browning & crispy. Burn bans are out & I don't see any fireworks shows happening for the 4th as it is. Even some types of wildlife (wolves, cougars, rattle snakes, bears, coyotes) that we don't usually see in these parts have been showing up in human populated areas in search of water.
I gave in yesterday & bought one of those big rectangular pools. Set it out in the backyard & filled it w/water so it's all ready for a nice dip today. Didn't want to kill the grass but there isn't much life to it right now anyway.
