I know that Christina was in a bad situation and really needed the extra money..BUT I think she should have posted to the
board if she would take "email bids" BUT then post to the board... IF she did get a $100 bid/offer...she should have posted to the
board and perhaps extended the auction to give other bidders a chance to bid on. I know that when you are in a desperate situation
and need the money...you do what you think is best. This time..I do think it was wrong. You have an actual bidder that had the
high bid at the end and she thought she had won. I'm sure she took the time to keep watching the auction and bid at the appropriate
time to have the high bid. AND then to know she had won...and then told she didn't...It is upsetting. I know I wait till the end of the auction..I think most do to see what the auction high bid will be. That's the whole idea of an auction..highest bid wins.
I am friends with both Christina and Brandie...and I hate the bad feelings this has caused..but I do agree with Brandie..I would be upset..because once I see that high bid was mine at the end..I would have thought I won too.
I don't see why the person that offered the bid just didnt post on the board??? If it was the case of that person not being around at that time..she could have posted or christina could post what her bid was and see if anyone would have wanted to outbid over that $100.
Auctions just don't work that way...and it does seem kind of "unfair" that it wasn't posted to the board. I'm not trying to take sides, hurt anyone's feelings, just being honest and letting you know my thoughts.
If your going to hold a different kind of auction.."email bids", etc..you need to post to the board to let others know.
So..please don't criticize my thoughts...this is just how I see it. I know that we all have hard times. This board is here to help each other...in a lot of different ways. I know that some have stated that Christine was in a bad situation and really needed the money.. but on the other hand...Brandie was trying to help her situation too by getting on a great auction to help her needs too... SO...this was just one of those things that went the wrong way.
Christina and Brandie.. My last thoughts to you two...things happen....sometimes we don't always THINK at the time what is the right thing to do. AND...I think this was one of those times!

Im glad she got the $100 bid but agree that i should have been given the choice to be able to bid higher if i wanted to. I just wanted to see what everyone else thought because i did feel wronged but im over it now and im hoping to bid on bigger and more auctions. was there really and *actual* email bid? i mean not to cast doubt but maybe she found better money on ebay to sell all the frees and btfe???? they do sell there for a premium. i saw what was in that auction and i know it was to help her but but what i saw in it who jumped up the bid $40 from where she added at $60? no matter what, if it wasnt posted that she takes email bids which i would NEVER have an auction like that as to who knows if a REAL person put a bid in. It just puts the person in a bad light and she may lose trading partners after this, i hate to say. still think brandie was the obvious and rightful winner, but that is just me :(

This was an auction and i would have bid higher. She was asking for help by posting an auction and we reached out by helping her and i wouldve loved to continue to bid. If you wanted to bid, i think you should have bid publicly just like everyone else did. I think this was wrong but am glad that she got what she needed. How many time have you seen me here on a Sunday? Very very few. I don't do Sunday's here. There is a personal reason for that.

it was made within the time limit-on the day-within the time-
I was prepared to make bids beyond the $125.00 for whatever was called for. $750 was my limit.
She DID RECEIVE other funds OTHER than this auction from me. For those that just have to know
She does have enough for her appliances
and additional funds that were needed.
Now I hope this is settled, now that it is public for all to see for those whom just HAVE to know.

someone wants to bid on but they know that they will be at work during teh crunch time so they email a friend who is instructed to make the bids going up to what ever the limit they set is This allows the chance for the working trader to win and the auction winning bid to be as high as it can possinly get To assume that no matter what you would have had the winning bid is in my op a bit cocky and by doing what you did cut off the potential of even you paying what could have been a much higher bid and more money for the cause

The bid should have been posted to the board, even if by you because you were enabling no higher bids. I wouldve bid higher and it was wrong for nothing to have been posted. I wouldve taken it better and not wuestioned it, had it been cancelled because frankly thinking i had won for two days before anyone heard and tben not even posting who put in that bid, only made iy worse. I wish I was not layed off right now, and could have helped you. My oven has been broke for 3 years now. I use a small convection oven, to do most of my roasting and things. o Just wanted you to know you are not alone. This will be the 2nd summer no Air Conditioning and I only had 1 box fan up until last week and a friend just loaned me a fan so now I have 2. I have never owned a washer or dryer and would like to get a apartment size one as I have to walk 5 blocks to the laundry mat and pull a shopping cart and try not to get hit by cars as I can't see them when crossing streets... or wait till bf can take me and that is every 2 wks. Makes it hard not being able to do laundry for 2 wks expecially with summer here. I have been doing reward programs like crazy just trying to make ends meet as I am not working now also. I pray something comes through and we both get the things we need.
