I sincerely hope you never experience having the misfortune of a health/medical issue or the loss of a job that puts you in a position of financial hardship. But it's sad to think maybe that's what it's going to have to take for you to understand. And when that happens, I hope you haven't burned too many bridges & will have good, caring friends that are willing to help you out.
Are there "takers" in this world? Yup, but that's just how life rolls. However, Tina & Gwen are NOT "takers" & for you to refer to them as "takers" or "beggars" is uncalled for & mean-spirited. :(
Granted, a "thank you" is encouraging to hear sometimes but it isn't always necessary. If you do things for people because you EXPECT a "thank you" or something else in return, then don't even bother because you're doing it for the wrong reasons. When I do good things for others it's because I WANT to, because I feel good inside, inside my heart. That's usually all the thanks I need. :)

It's nice that there are caring people out there who are willing to help one another. I too wish that someone would do that for me, if people only knew how tough and tight things are right now,both medically and otherwise, but nonetheless, I think that it is wonderful that people were so giving to someone here on the board. It is deeds like yours that come back 10 fold and also make people appreciative of the people that they know. It opens up the eyes and hearts of others to those who are as kind as yourself. A simple act of kindness just shows how caring people can be.
I watched the auction but it was more than I could afford, but I truly was hoping that the RS member was able to get the $$$ that she needed. I'm still taken aback that this thoughtful post was "hijacked" by an unhappy member.
We all do kind things. Some are acknowledged and some are not.
