I had bid on an item that was ending today and a few hours before it ended I got an email from the seller (through ebay) that said "if" I won they had changed internet providers and gave me an address on where to send payment to. I did win, but if I send it to another address will it still be covered under ebay/paypal?
Just sounds a little fishy to me.

3|1|THinking changing internet providers would NOT effect the paypal account, or Ebay account that have set up. It does sound fishy!!|dlpavitt|dlpavitt@att.net|05:11:00|05/12/2012|

If you are a HONEST trader, there is nothing to fear in having a feedback link. If you do not have one, please set one up, BEFORE contacting me for a trade. If you insist on not having a feedback link, please do not contact me to trade. Feedback links protect all of us, on RS. Thanks for understanding. My hubby sells on ebay and he said make sure the new address is confirmed. Good Luck. 5|1|If it was on the up and up, why would the seller not just change the email/PP info officially? :/ Hmmm.|saint6811|waylan@comcast.net|07:21:52|05/12/2012|

6|2|Like Joy said, why not just change the email address in paypal and ebay? Only takes a second to do, and I can't think of any reason you wouldn't.|Beaglesfly|lmllr77@aol.com|11:24:22|05/12/2012|

Deedra, does the seller have much feedback? Does it seem like this is the first auction he's done in a while? If so, someone may have hijacked his account.

If you want to email me the seller's name, I can take a look at him for ya.

Either way, if you pay to an address that's not the sellers email address in ebay and paypal, you are not covered if something goes wrong.

Lauren 7|3|Just to clarify, are they asking you to send the payment in the mail or to a different email addy? Either way, you wouldn't be covered under paypal.|Beaglesfly|lmllr77@aol.com|11:27:12|05/12/2012|

Some sellers rather be paid through the mail to avoid paypal fees, but it's against the rules for a seller to actively solicit payments outside of the ebay system (you may accept such payment, but you can't initiate asking to be paid outside of paypal).

Sounds fishy all the way around.
