We didn't want him to strain to see the screen.  It's not backwards compatible either.  The Lite is and the DSi isn't either.<P><a href="http://ds.about.com/od/nintendods101/tp/dsivsdslite.htm">http://ds.about.com/od/nintendods101/tp/dsivsdslite.htm</a><P>If you have Gameboy games you want to continue to play, you need to pick a DS that has backwards compatibility.  The good thing about this is Gameboy games are cheap to pick up at places like Game Stop.
