I was at a Target about 15 miles from my home. I was in charge of supervising the coupon processing and paying; DH was in charge of getting the bags (all three of them!) into the cart.

One bag had 2 packages of chicken (marked down from $5.99 to $3.99 so I was happy). When we got home and I started putting things away, I asked DH where the third bag with the chicken was, hoping he'd say... oh, in the car, just a second. Instead there was that look of panic as he went out to the car and came back empty handed.

I called the store and told them what happened and unlike most stores who are very accommodating, they basically told me well, there was no way I could provide I DIDN'T have the chicken, however, if I went back, they would "allow" me to get two more packages of the same chicken cuts. I explained that at 15 mpg, this would cost me to gallons, current rate $3.99... is there some way I could get a credit, or could I go to my local store that is 2.3 miles away. I really thought the nearer store would be an option. What I heard on the other end was "well, if you hadn't screwed up, this wouldn't be an issue." Hmmmm, anyone want to guess who I'm calling on Monday?

Yes, it MAY have been my error, or the cashier MAY NOT have put the bag up, which is a shared error. But to say something like this to a customer? Wow.

OK, I feel better now. .. Having worked in the IT service desk business for almost 20 years... I have NO tolerance for this and certainly get all the info I need. If my staff ever talked to our internal users like this... well... thinking they would be working elsewhere! 4|1|Walmart makes you wait now while they check the video. I have never had someone not believe me, would tick me off for sure. I just went back a month later to get some seeds that were not in my bags. I just called right away, told her I only shop there once a month and she left a note. Then when I went in, the girl never even looked to see if there was a note.

It was about 15.00 worth of stuff. I called and they said they would look for it but to come back to the store. I was thinking, I don't want to come back if you aren't going to make this right. Well, we didn't have to put up a fight. They didn't find my bag (surprise surprise!). It was probably taken by the customer after me. But we were very surprised, though, that they replaced the items.

A couple of years ago when my kids were small, I was distracted at checkout. It was a big order for me and I had coupons so I didn't notice that they scanned a Bissell carpet cleaner twice. That time I had to fight it. That was a $60 mistake!! They had me wait while they went back through the security tapes. I must have waited 45 min but in the end, I got my money refunded. OMG I thought I would have a heart attack!! Those of you with small kids and coupons would understand! :)

I told them that basically I was upset about missing $8 of merchandise, of course. But much more than that I didn't like being lied to and the rudeness was out of place. The names I had of those I talked to? No such people employed by that store. Hmmmm. The guy I talked at from corporate was very nice. Is givjng this info to the regional manager and sending my a giftcard. So we shall see.
