the local hospital and over took his correctional officer stole her gun and ran into the woods behind the hospital which is only 3 miles from my house and about the same from Amy's I couldn't sleep last night and will be keeping Nick home from school as I don't think it is safe with him going to the bust stop They say he is in nothing but his undies and socks and it is wet and cold here it scares me to think that he will be looking to find clothes to wear Tho there are woods right near the hospital it is also very close to a couple developments and the nursing home where my Mom is 1|1|yeah and toting a .38 with him too, be careful. My own question is---what the heck was he doing in the hospital in the first place??? I thought inmates only got taken to the hospital if it was something serious/life threatening that couldn't be handled in the prison infirmary. Obviously he was deathly ill to overpower his guard, walk/run out of the hospital, traipse through woods in his socks and skivvies, etc. After this, I HOPE they at least question giving him the right for hospital care if this is what he does with it.
I'm sure some would say I'm being cold and callous, but if someone can't be glad they're getting free medical care and instead choose to endanger other people, waste police and hospital resources, as well as the waste of time and manpower on the taxpayer's dime.... who is to say they won't do it all over again? Instead, he will probably be given a different guard and sent back to the hospital for treatment (possibly now for pneumonia as well after a night in his skivvies!)

That doesnt make sense to send a prisoner out without more than one guard....not safe for the guard, the hospital staff, or the public.
