this facility was set up just to process slime not regular meat processing.

I am not sure how anyone can be happy about a place going bankrupt AND even more people being without jobs! Plus, I wonder if many are ready for the increase in meat prices that will come about because of this plant's bankruptcy. Quoting from the article:
Jeremy Russell, of the National Meat Association, said "this is certainly going to have an economic impact on the industry" from cattle ranchers to meat processors, affecting thousands of jobs.
Ground beef makes up a "big part" of the overall meat market, and prices are sure to rise, he said.

Most people eat too much beef anyways. Instead of using a pound of ground beef, cut it down to 3/4 pound or less. Try eating more chicken or other forms of protein.
The companies and stores did have the option to label this meat and disclose what it contained. They elected to sneak around and mislead the consumer. I would not eat this junk but let those who want to... eat it...if they don't care.

While it's certainly not the employees fault, I put total blame on the company for wanting to cut corners...it's all about the money. With that being said, they got caught and now they're paying for it! I'm just glad this is out in the open so more people are aware what they're eating which is disgusting garbage - food I would never ever feed my dog! Many ingredients in food are with permission from FDA not listed. You may not eat processed food again. For instance choclate favoring is not made from cocoa beans. It is not chocolate. The flavoring is made from some petroleum by products. These things will not kill you, not immediately anyway, but long term? I buy only all antural ice cream, where most of this deception lies.
Even a supposingly healthy peanut butter is unhealthy. Read the ingredients label on all of your popular brands, JIFF, PLANTERS, PETER PAN. They all contain hydrOnated oil, another name for chloestrol,OR TRANS FAT. Is it cheaper? The FDA never looked out for us. They're in it for the money in bed with big corporations, pharmaceutical companies, and so forth....all alphabet organizations at the top are run by criminals!
