I told my 9 year old son that if he started sleeping in his own bed at night, that I would start redecorating his room little by little. It was decorated as a spiderman room and he informed me that he's much to old for spiderman these days. So he wants a camo room (he's loved camo since he was really tiny) Much to my surprise, it's now been over 2 weeks and he's slept in his own bed every night! (I guess his uncle living in his bedroom for over 3 months made him have a greater appreciation for his room!) I am so proud of him! His behavior has improved, he's much more independent and I think all of this is because he's now more confident because he did it on his own!
I haven't been out of the house since my surgery, so I decided to try and venture out today to a couple stores to see if I could find anything. Since he has a full size bed, it's a bit difficult to find anything in stock at the store. I went to a couple stores before deciding that I just am not up to walking around... kept feeling like I was going to pass out... so, so much for shopping. I came home and called a local store to see if they had anything in stock. She put me on hold and then got on the phone saying she had one left in full and it was half price. I was there in about 5 minutes to pick it up. I got there and it was missing a pillow case, so they knocked another 10% off the price... which was fine... so then I stop by the craft store to find some supplies to make a camo name plate for his door and some camo light switch covers and figured I'd take a pillow sham in with me to match the colors... as I pulled it out of the bag to get it, I saw the comforter tag... it was a twin size in a full size bag! UGH!!! And the store is now totally out of them! Double UGH!
So disappointing, but I already knew I could get a new one online if I wanted to pay full price and I know the quality is decent enough... so i figured the deal slipped through my fingers.... so I bought it online, then thought... this is kinda silly... why would it be half price in the store and full price online! So I called customer service and spoke with a very nice lady who thought the same thing. She said she couldn't see the price in the store (which I don't think was true) because after 5 minutes on the phone with her and after giving her the item number with a "d" after it, which I told her I was sure meant discontinued and telling her I had the defective one and receipt with me and just ordered the full price one online and the numbers match, she asked if it would be ok if she shipped it directly to the store so I didn't have to pay shipping.... I asked her what she meant... she said she was cancelling my $63.00 order and putting in a new one for the same item for $31.80! But she had to ship it to the store or I would have to pay shipping because it was now a order under $50 and didn't qualify for free shipping! So, She gave me a brand new one with all the correct pieces for the clearance price in the store! Now I'm so excited! I haven't told my son yet. I'm kinda hoping it come in while he's not home so I can set it up before he sees it! It will be here within 4-7 days. I'm happy to run to the store to save $30 on one item!
So I an really excited! That one little phone called saved me a bunch of money! Money I'm going to need to pay for the surgery I just had! I love it when in the end it all works out in my favor
So I got a full size Camo Comforter, 2 shams, 2 pillow cases, 1 flat sheet, 1 fitted sheet and 1 bed skirt for $31.80 in exactly the pattern I needed! AWESOME!! Now I have to find some great deals on other items for his room. Anyone know of a good deal on those canvas bins? Looking for olive green, tan, brown, black colors... his are all spiderman red and green! got light plate cover of a spread eagle
got the paint and curtains
now just to get TIME to paint and decorate
will be a while before i look for comforters and stuff like that
he found a nice 3 eagle porcelain piece to go in his room too

AC moore has colored canvas bins, they have a 50% off coupon for tomarrow. our store lets you us 2 at time, just ring them up seperate. after sunday it is 40 % off for the coupon. makes the bins pretty cheap
