It's in my abdomen wall and my intestine are stuck in it. They finally told me I have to have it fixed. So I went ahead and scheduled it for April 6th waiting for my new insurance to kick in which would pay for it at 100%.... so what happens... yesterday it's starts killing me! I went to the doctor and he said that I'm going into surgery in the morning, apparently the hernia is stuck (????)... it can't wait anymore! So now it will be covered at 80% after a $500 co-pay! UGH!!! If only it could have waited a few more days! It appears this hernia could also be causing an obstruction in my intestional track which acts up every now and then.
So I haven't slept really well all night... I guess I'm just thinking about it. The doctor said I will be out of the office at least two weeks (only because I work a desk job and promised not to get up and walk around!). They are going to try and do it laproscopically (?), but he said he might have to open me up to get it done, he won't know until he gets in there and looks around. Recovery time will be different depending on how he has to do it! I'm hoping for laproscoic, but we'll see! I hope to be back online again soon.
So much for a vacation again this year! Just once I would like to go a year without surgery!

But OUCH!!! Turns out my appendix was stuck in my hernia! No wonder I hurt so bad! Everything is back where it belongs, but I hurt like mad, the pain pills aren't working much. The doctor suggested I get admitted to the hospital for the pain... but I'm thinking it's better to be miserable and home than in the hospital catching whatever other superbugs are in there!
If I lay perfectly still, I seem to be ok... movement hurts really bad. I'm trying to move around a bit like the dr had wanted me to, this is the first time sitting up in a chair.
Instead of stitches, I was stapled! I've always had infections with stitches, so he's trying the staples. Hubby has been good, took off a few days to help me get around, etc. He spends a lot of time grabbing me stuff that I would like to get to, but I usually just put it down next to me and sleep.
Thanks. Gotta go lay back down, sitting is really hurting!

They scared me cuz they looked like they could burst open when he sat up!!!
