Good morning everyone
On Feb 26th, I went to the ER with a gassy stomach. The diagnosis was swift - large mass, ovarian cancer, spread - need an oncologist. 24 hours later, I had major surgery to remove the 6" tumor, along with hysterectomy, part of intestine, colon, bladder and appendix. 1st time in hospital.
When I got home 17 days later, I made a small trade with Barb009 - mostly just to keep my mind off pain. And apparently, Barb mentioned it to some of the RS family and what a great surprise to see cards from people who took the time to try to comfort me. It was an act of kindness that will forever be appreciated.
I am doing better now - trying to get stronger for the chemo that will start sometime in mid-April. I am trying not to dwell on the negative side.
What I need now are some success stories of people who coped with chemo and fighting cancer. Is there anything I can do to prepare for this treatment? I am really scared.

I had the same type of thing, went in for a "routine" hysterectomy and found huge tumors, ended up with major surgery, removed my appendix and all female parts, and have been doing chemo now for 2 years and 4 months. It has changed my life in many ways, but I am still doing my best to keep up with everything. My doctor has said that this is a chronic condition to live with, and that the more I keep to my normal life, the better I will feel. So keep your life together, don't let it get you too down, and will add you to our prayers

to hear your in my thoughts my sister inlaw had cancer and had a hystorectomy but is doing fine now. i think that many people seem to get cancer these days maybe bad diet or what we breathe.i would be scared too you will need help from family hope things go better for you 11|1|You will be in my prayers. Judy Yes cancer is an awful word My husband went through chemo and redition at the same time
He is fine it might make you very tired lost of appetite or it may not affect you at all
Stay stopng and postive I know its easy for me to say to you but you will be fine
remember there is light at the end of the tunnel :)

I really don't understand what is happening to me. I'm usually stoic and tough and very reserved with my feelings. But the messages keep coming and I am so grateful for them - brings tears...
During the day, I present myself as positive and determined and ready to take on whatever it takes to beat this thing. But during the long hours of the night, the thoughts just rumble through my head that this could be deadly, at the very least, life changing.
