in my local free paper. They had 5 gallon buckets for 30.00. I was thinking how odd that was, but a good price. My husband is a laundry soap snob, and the stuff is costing a fortune these days. So then I see on the news how people are stealing it and selling it on the blackmarket and using it for drug trades, is that crazy or what. Now they are talking about putting the anti theft devices on tide.

there is a person here in my area who advertises and sells like 25/30 gal buckets of 'tide' and 'downey' but they are not truly that name brand. I forget all the details but talked to a couple people who know this person and they get it legit from a relative in Chicago..he works for some company that produces these things..can get it super cheap and then this relative resells them down here for a profit. I bought one each a few years ago and noticed right away that they weren't the REAL name brand by the way they smelled and performed but they were 'ok' to use. Crazy that the name brand Tide costs soo much and you know P&G makes more than that brand..so if that brand is GREAT they can make their other brands 'great' as well if they wante too. Instead they choose to have Tide as a "A" brand and others sub par in performance in reference to Tides performance. There was a drug bust somewhere & the authorities were surprised to find oodles of shelves filled w/big containers of Tide instead of the cash they expected. The dealer was accepting the Tide in exchange for drugs as it would bring in more money. Stores are now starting to attach security tags on Tide because it's a hot item for thieves (it's the most popular laundry soap, everybody needs laundry soap & it never expires), be it to use in exchange for drugs or to sell it on the black market.
