It is wrong for someone to send a check if it was NOT part of trade agreement. That is being sneaky. checks and traders have asked ahead of time if ok especialyy if large trade as i don't like to send that much cash in mail myself either
if i am doing the sending i usually ask to get a mo as i can get them from my bank at nc and then they know they can cash them right away

I think only one other time did someone send me a check without asking and it was for $3. I decided to let it go and not cash it as I didn't want trouble with my bank for any bad check fees for $3!! I usually let the person know when I send them a total letting them
know it is going out. When I place an ad I usually let everyone know
I accept cash,check or paypal or even sometimes gift cards as the trade.
But I think it is up to you to let them know you do not take checks.
