I have just started doing this in earnest for the past feww weeks...and it has been great. I go thru the ads of about 7 different stores, make a list of the item and the price and head to Walmarts. The cashiers have never asked to see my ads to verify the prices, even though I make sure to take them with me. 2 things to be prepared for
1) many of the cashiers don't know how to divide in their heads. If an item is 3 for $2 they get very flustered trying to figure out the price in their heads. I usually do the math when I write my list...makes it quicker and easier for both of us.
2) Always check the Walmart price before you put an item into your basket, many times I have found Walmarts is already cheaper than the other store's sale price. Usually the cashier will mention it and ask me if I still want the ad price, but I like making note of Walmart's prices so I can keep track of my own savings.

Some deals I got tonight Lysol wipes 80 ct. $3.50 in Target ad Walmart price 4.54
Eggo waffles 2.49 Home Land 3.23
Mt. Dew 12 pack 3 for $10 Warehouse Grocery 3.98 also had $2 coupon
Dove bar soap 6 pack $6 CVS 6.88
Pillsbury ready to bake cookies 2/$4 Homeland 2.58 also had .75 coupon
Underwood spread 2/$3 Drug Warehouse 1.58

Actually, Aldi's avacados are much smaller - so got some really big ones at WalMart for 19¢ - I was so excited that I did not pay any attention to how much they cost at WalMart - but around $1.00 usually. I always bring my competitor ads with me and usually have to show it to the clerk.
