my daughter have brace since last year. this is her 2nd year of 2012. she is 16.
i pay down 1670 dollar then one year payment 150 dollar but we paid off then we would wait for dentist tell us for retain cost approx 300 or up.
i am in so. california. i do have insurance.

her first appointment is tomorrow. The guys we go to are pretty cheap, and people drive a long way to go there. Now one of them has set up an office just in my next town, so hoping it works out. The last child we put braces on was ten years ago, and it was just under 2000.
I was wondering if it would be cheaper to go to someone in our ppo, but if the going rate is around 5000, it might be better to stick with what I know.

It was only 2995, plus the cost of pulling four teeth. I am so releaved to have this process started. I love this group of orthodontists, they are all about kids who need braces should be able to have them, and make them much more affordable. If I would have went to someone in my PPO, it would have cost me more.

a discount dental plan? Some even have orthodontics. The plan would provide a percentage off reg fees.

We got a price a year ago for my daughter for phase 2 (traditional braces) and it was 2600.00. My son needs braces now, too, so we're looking at getting them both started and asking if the dr will give a discount on both. Either that or see if the ortho dental discount plan will pay a better percentage off.
We don't have insurance so I am looking into discount dental plans because then, at least, we can get 30% or more off cleanings/exams/xrays etc. This orthodontist we are talking to says the kids need cleaning, xrays before he starts-and thats about $325 each kid!

for some good information. Originally I was just looking for the going rates before I got things started. I have insurance, but it pays half so I knew I was going to have to come up with the other half. They required 500 down then 50 a month, so not so bad.
