Can someone help me as to what I can use to get
yellowing out from clothes. DH has a dress shirt
that was hanging in the closet (in plastic wrap)
with yellow stains around the neck and sleeves.
We need the shirt for tomorrow. (of course) Also
have white clothes that were in the bureau that
are yellowed. I have tried so many things. Hopefully
I will have something around the house??
What would anyone think about trying just plain ajax
with bleach?? Haven't tried that yet. 1|1|Wash them in Dawn dish detergent see if that will help.|greenthumbs|greenthumbs@charter.net|13:35:07|02/26/2012|

Haven't tried that. Should I soak them first? 3|1|I always use Biz....|Quietwaters|Quietwaters39@hotmail.com|14:52:42|02/26/2012|

That always worked great for baby clothes that had been packed away and had mystery stains when you brought them out again.

I highly recommend Iron Out. If you can't find it in the laundry or household cleaner aisle, you'll probably find it in the bathroom cleaner aisle by the CLR or even in the automotive dept. around by the Goop - it depends on the store & where they feel it belongs. LOL
But I've had really good luck w/both Iron Out & Yellow Out. It's a mild bleaching agent for white clothes but it isn't hard on them like regular bleach is, which can thin/rot material over time or give it a yellowish tinge.
I love this stuff & it has many other uses as well, mostly rust or water spots/stains. I've used it on chrome bumpers, hubcaps/rims, bicycle fenders/handlebars, metal toys (like the old Tonkas), ceiling blocks, in toilet bowls, sinks, tub/shower & on faucets. In my parents' old house, there were water stains on the ceiling blocks in the one bedroom from a previous leaky roof. I used a toothbrush & dabbed it in a paste of Iron Out & little bit of water. By the time I was done, you couldn't tell the water stains had ever been there. It'll even remove rust/water marks or grime build-up on concrete sidewalks & driveways & white siding.
My sister has a flea market & has safely used it on white vintage clothing.

When my grandma was in the nursing home, her clothes always had yellow spots on them, my mom made a soapy water with peroxide, use as much as you need & let them soak, it removed all the stains. I had a mouse get in a closet & it had ran all across the top of some of my good clothes & peed I guess on them. Had yellow stains all over them, could not wash it out, mom told me to use the peroxide & dish soap or laundry soap in sink, removed every stain with no problem. Soaked them until I could not see stains, rinsed them & put them in washer & everything came out. Try this if everything else fails. You might have to use the whole bottom depending on how many stains & how bad it is. Will take out yellow stains from clothes being folded & not unfolded for a long time also.
