First I am very sorry for your loss.
My Aunt Jane was my Dad's older sister. Now I have just one aunt and one uncle left of his siblings. She lived far away from us (Canada) and I haven't seen her since I was a kid, but I always thought about her and liked her very much. She had a hard life. Her own father passed away from a heart attack and so she brought her mom (my grandma) home to live with her and her husband. Very shortly after that her husband Gordon (who was only in his 40's at the time) tragically passed away from a heart attack while sitting at the dinner table with Jane and Grandma. That was traumatic for both of them.
I understand that her later years were good as she lived close to both of her daughters and several grandchildren.
I am kicking myself for not writing to her after my dad's passing. I kept meaning to and she reached out to me. It was on my "list of things to do" and I know better than to put something like that off. I hope she knows how important she was.
Anyway it was a bad week for losing Aunt Janes. What was your aunt like?
