So, on top of everything else I've been diagnosed with over the last year... I go for a few more tests and find out I have:

Stenosis of the Spine
Bulging Discs in my lower back
Arthritis in my lower back...

and Ulcerative Colitis! There's also a Spigelian hernia... but I haven't searched what everything means yet! GEEZ!!

Really???

Because problems with a dermoid cyst that was removed from my ovary last year, the kidney problems caused by Sleep Apnea, the high blood pressure and Gastroparesis aren't enough? I'm sure I'm missing something... but who can keep track at this point!

Oh... and the new cyst on my ovary that they discovered when I had my Kidneys checked is still there! Didn't go away... and I think it's much larger than it was... now I need to go pull my old medical records to look for it!

It sounds like this is a really stressful and hard time for you! 4|1|I know this is not the same, but I am right there with you. Have been a long time psoriasis sufferer, and recently started with psoriatic arthritis. I passed out this morning on the kitchen floor with a flare up. The hospital I have been referred to for a rhuematoligist has a 6 month waiting list, before I can get an Apointment WTF? I can not keep going through this for 6 months. It is absurd. I made another appointment tomorrow with my general doctor, to see if there are any alternatives. I so understand you frustrations. Big Hug, Donna|dlpavitt|dlpavitt@att.net|20:12:04|01/26/2012|

In some cases it can be a blessing, when early stage cancer is found and successfully treated. It's also a blessing when something is found that can be treated!! I hope that you start feeling a lot better, when the doctors are able to treat some of your problems, that before were undiagnosed.

Take care and God Bless You. 6|1|I'm sorry Laurie, & will hope & pray things go better for you.|maraj|maraj64@hotmail.com|21:15:03|01/26/2012|

If it helps to know, you aren't alone...I have quite the list too:

viral cardiomyopathy
chf
hypothyroidism
pcos
trigeminal neuralgia
cysts in my sinuses
advanced degenerative disc disease, lower back, arthritis

I understand the pain you must be in with the lower back problems, it hurts for me to stand up more than a few minutes on most days. I push through it to go shopping and do light cleaning but I have to take a lot of breaks. I can't even rememember what it was like to live without pain. I wish I had one day without it.

You'll be in my prayers and I hope that your symptoms can be managed so that you feel well enough to get through each day. :) Don't be discouraged, I've found that diet has a lot to do with how I feel too...and I am careful to research each medication before I commit to taking it. I have a bagful of pill bottles...a small pharmacy it seems. The doctors are always trying to give me yet another pill to take but I don't just follow it blindly. I ask lots of questions, read about my condition and the specific medications and my primary care doctor is kind enough to let me see how I do and decide if I really do need this med or that one. He isn't in the habit of just throwing a new prescription at me, we talk it over first and he will give me like a two week supply and tell me to call if it is ok or not. I'm allergic to a lot of medications so he is careful with me...and my chart is huge, my medical conditions are complex...I pray you find a doctor who cares enough to do the extra work to care for you. 8|2|Saying a prayer for you ((hugs))|Islandgirl|Islandgirl86@sbcglobal.net|22:12:51|01/26/2012|

I have stenosis of the spine, degenerative arthritis of the spine, bluing discs, also spondolysis. I broke a hip to femur bone last Feb and my other hip is very bad. I am in a wheelchair now. I also have IBS. It has been hard to deal with at times and accept. I will pray for you and if you ever need to email me, please do. I do understand what you are going through.

I tell myself, I don't have cancer or diabetes or kidney disease and that helps me deal with it. Also one of my daughters has a life threatening illness and her courage has given me much strength. 12|2|:)|lv2qpon|jcummins1@rochester.rr.com|15:17:22|01/27/2012|

I know the day is coming when I will be in a wheelchair too. My husband and I have been talking about moving into a one-floor home because the stairs are just too much for me. And who knows when I will be in a wheelchair and would like to move before I can't do the moving, physically packing and cleaning. I already don't do that much cleaning and he does most of it.

I'm so sorry to hear about how much we all are going through here...bless you all and I pray God comforts you all. 14|3|I am praying for a lot of people in here, so many of us have health issues. If you want to email me also, feel free to|lv2qpon|jcummins1@rochester.rr.com|16:31:35|01/27/2012|

do so. It helps to have others to share with who know exactly what we are going through. I try and not dwell on the problems, but try and find soulutions. I use tongs to pick up things and I can get up and stand for brief times and I am grateful for that. So I can do the laundry and if I am having a bad time with pain, I just have to give in to it. There are a lot of things I can't do anymore, so it is hard at times, but there are children in wheelchairs and they will never have the chance to do all the things I have done. 15|4|amen, so true|cinda68|lacinda68@gmail.com|17:05:17|01/27/2012|

I can't feel sorry for myself when there are children with cardiomyopathy, I was diagnosed at 30 and given a death sentence but I lived 30 years without it. Those children never had so much as a day without it. With the arthritis and disc disease, the pain is the worst...if only I could be out of pain then I could function so much better. I also have trigemnial neuralgia, nicknamed the "suicide" disease because it is the worst pain known to mankind and some have committed suicide over it. It is on the left side of my face, unbelievable sharp pains that knock me flat out. Sometimes even the wind hitting my face will set it off...and I can't let my husband kiss me on that side...and sometimes washing my face will trigger it.

I always feel better to know there are others who are in the same boat but I wish we all wouldn't be suffering so much. But you are right, there are children who didn't have any healthy years at all...I did have healthy years for which I am grateful. I am actually thankful for the heart disease, and for facing death at age 30. I learned how to live by facing death. 16|5|Praying especially for you, it is hard to live with pain. It is O.K. to have a good cry and have times when it is just so|lv2qpon|jcummins1@rochester.rr.com|21:42:21|01/27/2012|

unbearable to hold back when the pain is so hard. With stenosis, sometimes my spine is being squeezed so hard, I can't move. Is there any pain medication that will help you? I have some that helps me function. I am home all the time though and don't get out much. I do love those scooters in our local store. I wish more places had those. 17|6|thank you|cinda68|lacinda68@gmail.com|22:39:43|01/27/2012|

I do have prescription pain meds but they don't help much at all. I am at home a lot too and I push myself to go when I have to go out. My husband helps a lot with cleaning so I'm grateful for that.

I don't know what else to do really, docs are afraid to prescribe stronger pain meds because of the stigma and laws, etc. It really does keep a lot of people like me in needless pain. Maybe I need to find a doctor that will help, one that isn't afraid to give me adequate pain relief.

Thank you for your prayers, my prayers are with you all as well. :) 18|6|I want to use those scooters too|cinda68|lacinda68@gmail.com|22:48:02|01/27/2012|

but I wish the carts were bigger. When I go shopping, I use the cart as support to walk, it helps for a while anyhow. I can't be on my feet very long or I will pay dearly for it. 19|6|Thanks. I'm unable to take pain killers for several reasons....|jdlaurie|savethosepennies@aol.com|08:51:41|01/28/2012|

Posted on Jan-28-12 at 08:51 AM (Eastern) by 98.208.142.77

one being that I work for a brokerage firm and I can't be "out of it" when I'm putting in orders or talking to clients. I could cost the firm millions of dollars if I put an extra zero in something or buy or sell the wrong thing for a client. So if I started taking pain killers I would not be able to work in my line of work anymore...

also, I have gastroparesis and Colitis. Taking pain killers would cause my intestional track to slow even further, which I can't have happen, it barely works as it is.... and it would also cause my Colitis to flare up and one of the doctors said I would likely wind up in the hospital in so much pain if it flared up.

So pain killers are not an option for me. I have to come up with alternative methods. I'm going to start with physical therapy and see what that does. I'm going to talk with the therapist to see what works and what doesnt.

I also need to lose weight.. they said that would help the symptoms a little bit. However I have to find a way to lose weight (100lbs) eating carbs only in the am. So I asked the doctor how an I supposed to do that when I can only have carbs in the am, I can't eat any raw fruit or veggies and I have to stay away from many of the cooked veggies like green beans with my gastroparesis.... and exercise hurts because of my back! UGH... I'm going to have to get very creative! 20|7|You might want to try the "PAIN Patch" , there are several different ones out and you can do this while you are at home. HTH!
