We had s category 3 tornado come through our neighborhood about 3:40 am on Monday. So much devastation, of course no power for many more days to come. I am so lucky verylitylr damage to my home. My neighbors not so lucky , my 20 year old son has 2 friends who lost their homes. It is primitive living, lucky to have small generator to run some lights but each time we go out to buy gas it takes 2 hours to make what should be a ten minute trip. Keeping my i-phone charged so I can access Internet. I never watch tv so that does not bother me but driving Hubby crazy. Can't complain because he drove 6 hours to cone home to help me with generator. in all I m blessed and lucky. 200 hundred homes damaged in my community alone, a16 killed only a few miles away. I use to laugh when all you heard people say is it sounds like a freight train but you know what it really does. I think all trades were completed before the tornado but there us probably some feedback I need to leave . We live in subdivision called Paradise Valley which was one of the heaviest hit areas. All power lines were snapped but Alabama power doing excellent job and despite damage we may gave power soon . JUNE 1, 2011 WE HAD A TORNADO THAT TOUCHED DOWN IN MASSACHUSETTS WENT BY MY HOUSE LOTS OF TREES DOWN TREES FELL RIGHT IN FRONT ON MY HOUSE KNICKED THE DOWNSPOUT BUT MY HOUSE WAS STILL STANDING MY POOL WAS GONE BUT CAVED IN INWARDS INSTEAD OF OUTWARDS AND WATER WOULD OF GONE ANYWHERE IF YOU CAME BY MY HOUSE YOU WOULD OF SAID THAT MY HOUSE WAS AN ACT OF GOD TO HAVE SO LITTLE DAMAGE BUT TONS OF TREES THREE HOUSES ACROSS THE STREET GONE. WHEN I HEAR TORNADO WARNINGS AROUND ON THE WEATHER CHANNEL I GET GOOSE BUMPS ALL OVER ME AND FLASHBACKS PASS OF THAT DEVASTATING DAY JUNE 1, 2011 SO I CAN SYMPHATIZE WITH YOU.

April 27 th 2011 storm literally jumped our subdivision only raining debris down on us. This time houses all around destroyed and the worst I got was siding off, fence down and damage to my pool. had her whole home wiped off the foundation with the storm last April. She was in Tenn. They just moved into a new house last week, in a new location. I am so thankful they did not get hit again.
I hear now you can sign up to recieve a phone call if you are sleeping and there are bad storms in your area.
