I have a hankering to make mozzarella in carrozza. It's been awhile since I made it so am wondering if someone has a true Italian recipe for the egg batter to deep fry it in. I know the sandwich is basically just a thick slice of mozzarella cheese between 2 slices of Italian bread. I got the recipe for the egg batter when I waitressed in an Italian restaurant over 20 yrs. ago & would like to get a recipe as close to that one as possible, & don't know if I'll find mine back. I know there's basil & parsely in it but offhand, I can't remember how many eggs or what else goes into the batter.

Could easily be just me not recalling that part or that I didn't include it when I made it before. The flour just isn't ringing any bells w/me. LOL
I might have to call my old boss & see if she'll clue me in after all these years. Yikes! LOL
