All these electrical cords from my computer and printer are driving me batty! LOL Someone told me that there is something I can buy from an office supply store and plug into the USB port on my computer modem that will make my computer wireless. They said I'll have to buy a wireless printer, though. I'm not at all computer-savvy so I need lots of help! Does anyone here know anything about this? Thanks in advance for any help.

1|1|You need a wireless router to go wireless, Tim, but not sure that's going to solve your problems.......|Beaglesfly|lmllr77@aol.com|10:29:58|01/07/2012|

A wireless router is usually when you have a central desktop computer and then you want to send that computer's signal to laptops that are in different rooms around the house. Your main computer would still have all the cords plugged in. So you're not really eliminating the wires at the main computer.

If I'm reading your post wrong, and you ARE looking for a wireless router, here's an article on picking one....

Edited to add....is your main computer a laptop? If so, there might be a router that you can plug into your modem to make your main computer wireless (assuming your main computer is a laptop)....I'm not familiar with that though, so maybe someone else knows something.

There are two desktop computers in the house and I have bundled internet, phone and cable service with Comcast. They connected a wireless router to the main computer to add the second computer. They said I didn't need a wireless router because our computers weren't wireless but they left it in anyway--I think. I had a hard time following what the guy was saying and, after a while, I stopped trying to figure out all the technical stuff he was saying. It was another Comcast serviceman who came out after a power outage who told me about the wireless thing but he never told me the name of what I needed.

4|4|Well that wireless router would come in handy if you have laptops, but I don't think it will fix having too many cords on your desktop computers....|Beaglesfly|lmllr77@aol.com|11:31:59|01/07/2012|

I think there are little reels out there that you can buy that you put on your cords to wind up any excess cord. IDK, you're right, all the cords are kind of annoying.

Hopefully someone else will come along that has a solution for ya. Good luck :)

Sorry I couldn't be more help.
