Hi All! I haven't been on much... seems something is always coming up. My stomach is doing slightly better these days... and now I have to have another test to see what's wrong with my intestional track.... possibly a blockage of some sort. I'm also going to a neurologist about some back pain that I've had for a while that's gotten worse. They suggested either a pinched nerve or herniated disk in my back. What fun!
And to top things off... my brother who's 21 and his 20 year old girlfriend have moved in... and it's looking like it's going to be for a while. The place the lived totally flooded because of a problem with a toilet that had come loose from the floor... they haven't even been able to get all their stuff out of the place... then we got the call... even though they didn't do anything wrong, they have to move. Fabulous! She's working at Dunkin Donuts, my brother has a job that only pays sometimes... but just had an interview today and was hired to sell face cream of some sort as a telemarketer. At least it pays.... we hope! They won't have any money saved up for a long long time and with their salaries, I don't know how they will ever make it on their own!
an then of course came the kick when I was already down.... the insurance company raised our homeowners insurance $1200 a year! Since this is calculated into my mortgage and there is no way I can make up the difference now, our monthly mortgage payment will be going up over $200 a month! UGH.... and my daughter got Lice from someone at school! DANG IT!
This on top of my deductibles which all need to be met this month for me and my son. So this is a big OUCH!
This is where I need help! I have to try and feed 2 more people on my regular salary and save enough to make up the mortgage difference... so I need mega deals when I go shopping! I'm going to have to use coupons for everything!

My homeowners insurance was about $2200 last year, it went up another $1200! What a ridiculous rate increase. They said something about them overpaying on wind mitigation discounts last year, then premiums just going up. It's ridiculous! 3|1|Yowza! my house is worth $90,000 tops! Not $300,000 and I'm on the high end of the insurance qoute they gave! It's crazy! I'm in a masonry house and I get a wind mitigation discount and it's still that high! The house is 30+ years old and is still standing... so I guess it's built well.

Read your post and wondering what is a wind mitigation discount? I live in flat Kansas City so maybe it's something that's not available in our area.

It's a inspection that they do to make sure my roof has special items attaching it to the body of the house in case of Hurricane force winds. It's less likely your roof will blow off in a hurricane if you have special features. I hope that helps. I don't know if other areas would have the same thing for like tornados or not.
