At my last doctor's appointment, I was sitting in the waiting room when a drug rep arrived. Young woman, healthy, dressed to the nines and had that air of confidence and determination about her. A huge contrast to the patients waiting to be called. Sick, frail, older and weak. The drug rep was immediately let back to speak to the doctor. Guess my Dad was right, a pretty face opens doors, sigh.
It made me sad at first, those dear patients have no clue that the medications they are being prescribed are being peddled by salespeople, not doctors but merely salespeople. It struck me as a modern-day snake oil salesman type of scenario. Then it made me angry, very angry. Those patients are not receiving proper healthcare because of the power and scope of the pharmaceutical industry. They are not getting what might be best for them but what might bring the most profit to the pharmaceutical company and perks for the physicians. Frankly, I'm not sure how those drug reps sleep at night.
I saw a video a while back about a lady who used to be a drug rep but stopped because she finally had a heart for the patients. I wanted to stand up and tell all those dear patients what is happening just behind that door, while they wait now even longer for the doctor. To please do the research yourself on each and every single medication that is prescribed to you, please understand it is your body and your right to do so. There is so much behind the closed door that is it little wonder why our healthcare in this country is mediocre, why so many people are so sick, why important research is hushed while pharma-propaganda is promoted. Sigh.

Gwen Olsen takes you through a personal journey of a pharma sales rep with glimpses into the harsh reality of how the pharmaceutical industry operates. She also talks about the suicide of her niece and the effects that prescribed medication may have had on bringing about this tragedy. She also describes what happens to people on these drugs, the effects and the hazards as well as being on these drugs herself for many years. A friend of the family has a grandson who has been on some heavy anti-psychotics since age 3, ADHD drugs, a cocktail of medications that I'm not even sure what they are anymore. He is 14 now and I haven't seen them in a year or so. I can remember though...before his medications were given to him, he was out of control, loud, jumping around and basically what I saw was an extremely spoiled child. It didn't seem to be a mental illness to me as I have a close family member who has suffered a great deal with these issues. After his meds, all he could do was sit and stare at the wall for hours on end. Motionless and lifeless. This was the goal of the child's guardian, to keep him sedated and of course, the school pushed it as well. It was so incredibly sad to me. I saw a boy who needed so much for sure but not these dangerous medications. He needed proper guidance, correction, love and understanding. It broke my heart that the guardian (in this case the grandmother) only wanted to keep him quiet and still.
As I said, I have a close family member who has suffered for many years with what most would call severe bipolar. For years I did believe that mental illness was a chemical imbalance and that medications would help. After courses of so many medications and extended hospitalizations that lasted up to 6 months at a time, I came to a different conclusion. I saw a spiritual aspect in this, most notable when the disease would manifest itself at the greatest degree. Without disclosing much detail, they were very dark days. Literally dark...sitting in the dark for days, not eating...not sleeping...not talking...not responding. After this stage the swing would go to an extreme high that included shouts and screams of the most blasphemous things I have ever heard in my life.
It was the same with the other patients in the most intensive part of the hospital, this same deep darkness and vulgar profanity always against God and the things of God. I went back and forth with this for years. It is a medical condition that needs medical treatment...but wait...it is a spiritual condition that only God could remedy. Today, I am positively sure it is spiritual and the only treatment is to be found in God. These people are tormented, day and night, in the most vicious fashion I have ever seen. They are no different than any of us and if we were so tortured on such a high spiritual level, we would appear the same. There is no pill for this as it isn't a physical problem. No, I'm not a medical professional but only have studied the scripture on these matters and sought God for wisdom. However unbearable it is to watch someone suffer these things it is so much more harder for them and light will indeed shine in the darkness and remove the misery.
My heart breaks for the children and teenagers on these types of drugs. I've raised two children and on any given day I suppose any psychiatrist could have looked at them and "diagnosed" them with all sorts of mental illnesses. A rowdy young boy that won't sit still in school, ADHD. A teenage daughter that cries too much, clinical depression. On and on and on. What did I do? Pray, pray and pray. Plead with God to remove whatever was trying to attack my child, plead for their protection, ask God to give them light and to take away the darkness. And my prayers have been answered, so many days in so many ways. :) It is normal for a young boy to drive a Mom crazy and run around the house, also normal for a teen daughter to cry about unbearable situations. A time for everything, a time to laugh...a time to cry.
I've also taken certain antidepressants, years ago. Let me see..paxil, prozac, wellbutrin and one more I can't quite remember. What a big mistake! Trying to treat a very temporary problem with such dangerous drugs! The last one I took was wellbutrin and this is what woke me up. I was sitting on the couch staring at the wall, a strange kind of numb, not really alive or dead. My little girl kept pulling at my arm, trying to get my attention and she couldn't. Then she screamed, very loudly, "MOM where are you? I miss you Mom!" Indeed!!!!! Where was I??? Oh I wasn't upset anymore for sure but couldn't feel joy either, barely existing. Right there and then I got up off that couch and put every last wellbutrin pill in the toilet and flushed them away. actual 'cause' of a problem. I have seen first hand over the past few years how MUCH faith healers can TRULY heal bodies. None of that crazy stuff you see on tv..the 3 various ones my daughter goes to only uses 2 fingers on the outside of her right leg..but it WORKS!! My daughter before going to the healers was on over 30 pills a day (she has Lennox-Gasteau Sydrome..hardest of all seizure disorders to get under control)..seizing still alot..in fact, was seizing and/or sedated for 6 mos at one point and lost 80lbs..can't eat much when you are seizing or sedated. At this point after several years of being treated by the faith healers..now is only on a few pills and in fact are going down yet again!..on her meds as we speak and she is doing well. She has a few 'blips' here and there but a trip to see them fixes her and she is fine after seeing them. I also witnessed first hand how they healed another daughter of mine of a large cyst on her kidney. Seen the healer and within 12 hrs it was shrink and not painful as opposed to being able to physically seeing that large lump with my own eyes and it was painful. She needs to see them again and knows that as she was told that on a visit. You don't get sick normally with something really bad overnight..it has been brewing in your body for awhile before it 'erupts' so you see it (unless due to accident etc)so figures you would need to be treated a few times to 'fix' your body as well. The healers just have a gift from God and it's so wonderful of them to share that gift by helping others.
Anyhoo..I am adamantly against congress or whoever limiting us to get stuff from health food stores (natural healing treatments)or trying to stop people like the faith healers (they will tell you they are just God's instruments to do His work)as it's all a money racket by pharmacutial (Sp?)companies to control everything ..they are soo very greedy!

that conventional doctors only treat the symptom not the underlying problem by using surgery, chemo/radiation and RX drugs. The underlying problem is still there! They just put a band-aid over it!! This is main reason why hubby & I have switched from going to conventional doctor to naturopathic doctor who use methods of treating disease that employs no surgery or synthetic drugs but using special diets, herbs, vitamins, massage, etc., to assist the natural healing processes. I'm so glad your daughters are doing much better getting treatment by faith healers & taking much less drugs as well. He had meningitis at age 2 and nearly died and since then has suffered seizures. He has been on phenobarbital, etc. Most recent drug is Dilantin. He went from 3 Dilantins a day to only one pill maybe once a month, if that. Instead he takes iodine supplements. We both take Iodoral but there are other brands. There are doctors who will work with iodine to help with seizures but they are few and far between. As with anything else, especially an anti-seizure med, it has to be withdrawn only under the supervision of a doctor. Not something you want to just try on your own at all.
Before the 1960's, iodine was used in bread dough as a conditioner and to ensure that folks got enough iodine. "To prevent extreme stupidity" was how it was worded in the older medical books. Now they use bromine which is toxic and can cause a slew of physical and emotional problems. I don't know an awful lot about this just yet, only that bromine and iodine are both halogens and we started on the iodine to do a detox from bromine. It is in so many foods and beverages that I never knew about before. From Mt Dew to breads, certain enriched flours and just the other day I saw it listed on a box of Alka Seltzer cold medicine. Bromine is banned in every other nation but ours because of the health problems it causes.
What is strange is that the FDA allows it and sanctions it but yet another part of our government, the CDC, has a hazardous spill protocol for it. Strange indeed. Hazmat to clean up a bromine spill but yet it is ok to put in orange soda and gatorade? Ugh.

Do they charge you?
While I absolutely believe in healing miracles, if they charge money, how can they be of God? Do you think God would charge for healing?
Just remember that there are charlatans using God's name.
Personally, I don't think we need a "middle man" to ask God for healing. Why would the faith healer have more "pull" with God to obtain a healing than you do?

There is no mediator but Christ, I agree with you, we go directly to Him. I don't believe in the mixing of money with God in any fashion whatsoever.
If God so wills for us to be healed then it will come to pass.
1 Timothy 2:5

If money is being charged for such things, that is not of God, the gifts of God are free:

the answer is 'no'! they do not charge at all. If you want to donate, that is fine but they do NOT ask for a fee and in fact most always try to refuse it. Myself..I figure I can..and have..walked into a specialist for daughter and had to pay a minimum up to several hundred dollars + just to see him for a few minutes. If the healers can help my daughter or myself etc I am more than happy to pay what ever I can donate.
There are scammers everywhere..including regular drs. I cannot even begin to count how many 'quacks' ..neurologists...my daughter seen over the years. They were referred by other specialists or a GP dr as well. One even had the nerve to say all my daughter needed was a good spanking..she was just acting up for attention. Umm..NOT!
You just have to fine the 'good' ones whether it's regular drs, specialists, dentists (had a TON of bad dentists over the years as well) or faith healers. Again, these are NOT the crazy types you see on tv. They only use 2 fingers on the outside of your leg and may occasionally gently touch ..say if you have extreme migraines..the top of your head for just a few seconds literally.
My aughters are not the only ones I have seen healed by the 'good' healers..I could probably write a book by now. The one faith healer (he is not Amish) lives in Louisville KY and travels all over the US healing people. He says..and it's true..it's much easier for him to go to people than them to him since they are already ill etc. He does NOT charge but again it takes money for him to travel and he has to have gas and eat and lodging etc as well so more than happy to pay what I can comfortably afford since I KNOW he has the gift from God to heal.
CINDA 68--each of these people have God FIRST in their lives and they will flat out tell you they are just a instrument for God to do His work on the ill people. Also will say if you are not a believer in God and his healing don't bother to even go to them as again they are just being used by God to do His work.:)
