My mom has it,about 30 of us there with my brothers and spouses and kids, aunts, uncle and cousins and kids. We do a meatless dinner, too, Polish.

Baked fish
Cheese, potato and saur kraut pierogis
red beet soup
green bean casserole
potatoes and onions in garlic butter
potato salad (my aunt's)
rolls
jello
herring in wine sauce
cheesey potato csserole (my sil's mother)
baked beans
cole slaw
desserts: cheesecake, pretzel jello, tons of cookies, brownies, baklava, angel wings, fudge

On Christmas day, my family never leaves the house. Usually I do a stew that I throw in the crock pot in the morning and everybody can eat when they get hungry, but this year my mother bought a spiral sliced ham and kielbasa and wanted us to come over, so instead I took it home and will make it here and they will come over. That way we can still just stay home in jammies, and she doesn't have to cook. Haven't figured out what to make to go with it yet.

I grew up eating these prepared by my aunt - she had a seperate kitchen in her basement and the day before a holiday she would go downstairs and have an assembly line going - white cloth draped tables with flour sprinkled on them so the pierogies would not stick. She would boil her potatoes and then add some special kind of cheese and then make the most dainty pierogies and then drop them in boiling water and they had to rise to the top. I think then she would put them in a skillet with butter and then brown them a bit. Always served with sour cream. I got her recipe years later and tried to make them and they were the size of footballs. Now I just buy them at WalMart - just drop the frozen ones in boiling water and they are done in a very few minutes. YUMMY!

Christmas Day is our big family gathering so we're having turkey, meatballs, ham, stuffing, mashed potatoes, lefse, rolls, peas & carrots, cranberry sauce, raw mixed veggies & dip, meat & cheese trays, pumpkin & apple pies w/cool whip, cherry cheesecake, & whatever other sweets & snacks there are. We all pitch in & bring a couple things so it doesn't fall on 1 person. But we take turns each year & whoever's turn it is, pays the rental fee on the VFW & brings the turkey. There's only a couple people in our family anymore who have a big enough house to fit all of us in so when it's not their turn, we rent the VFW for the afternoon. We all pitch in again at the end of the day w/the clean up. Goes pretty good this way.

Smile... it makes people wonder what you're up to!

Please identify yourself in 1st email w/name/username. Due to recent problem trades, if I haven't traded w/you before, I will probably require you send your end 1st or I'll need LEGIT trade references/feedback. I will be happy to provide the same. IF you plan to hold your end til you've received mine, I will need to know that IMMEDIATELY, BEFORE trade is finalized.

If you're happy w/our trade, please leave feedback for me at:
