I sent two boxes to DS on 12/12. Checked them today. One has arrived at customs in Israel, so he should have it in about a week. The other is in BRAZIL!!! OMG. USPS will "open an investigation" but that could take up to 23 days. Of course, the box that made it to Israel has socks, batteries, deodorant and toothbrushes. The one lost in Brazil has a coat, a sweater, some shirts and some pants. CRAP!!! You would think when you spend $100 to ship something that it could at least get to the right country!!! I do not have a good feeling about this... not at all.
My poor DS is in desperate need of a coat. He said it's very cold there and his hoodies are not cutting it. I'm beside myself on this... just beside myself.

On ebay, I never ship to Brazil because things very often go missing when they go through customs.
I hope they get through Brazil to their rightful destination. Praying they go through the hands of someone honest who doesn't try to benefit from them.

THEN it is turned over to the other countries postal service....and that is usually where the thefts come in. But really -- why would they need/want winter clothes? I'm so heartbroken over this. DS was so proud of himself for finding a 50% off coupon to American Eagle... of course, it costs me as much to mail as it did for him to buy, but that's okay I guess.
What's even more disturbing (because, honestly, the clothes CAN be replaced) I had his newly issued drivers license in the coat pocket. He needs that. Now, my only option will be to ask the registry for another one which will have the word DUPLICATE in huge letters across it. Not sure he can use that internationally. AND what happens to the license in Brazil? Luckily it's not his SS#.
Was at the PO tonight and had them scan it (the lady remembered me bringing them) and she said the problem was in NJ.
I would send FedEx, but it's going to a PO box and FedEx won't do that ... as FedEx... but they do when they act for the USPS.
