Thanks so much for your support and prayers. I need them even more now though.
My Mom is starting to 'give up.' She pretty much did not want to be on this earth any more after my Grandma died several years ago. A couple of years ago, my Dad died and now she is really disconnecting, even with as much support as I and couple of family members can give.
I asked Mom, "what about your kids and grandkids?" She said, quite simply, "it isn't enough." :'-(
I have contacted a greif support specialist this morning, and they are going to call her (and me apparently).
I asked a counselor one time, "how do you help someone who does not want to be helped"...she said, "You can't." It hit me like a ton of bricks, and I know it is true, but I am still going to try.
Please include me and my Mom in your prayers.

you feel and what you are going thru. My mom did the same thing when her cousin Ginny passed. She was so despondent with her passing..was like they were 'twins' they were so very close. She just lost the will to live and not even myself (only child) and her grandkids were enough. It's not only heartbreaking but frustrating I know. I will keep you both in prayers here. Thanks so very, very much for the support/prayers/positive thoughts. I can't tell you how much it means to me!
Yesterday, Mom called my brother and asked him to take her to the doctor. Apparently she has a respiratory infection. He helped her with her medicine when they got back to her apartment, made sure she knew how to take it, and she took some while he was there. Yesterday she also talked to my one aunt she is close with, and they made plans to get together as soon as she is feeling better. So, I think the depression has lifted some and she is trying to 'hang in there.'
I am sorry if I upset anyone with my post. I just really needed some help/support yesterday. It is not really easy for me to reach out to people...I try my hardest to take care of things on my own, sort it out, but that was not working...I needed to reach out. I am so thankful to you gals for 'being there.'
I have asked for prayers/support/good thoughts a couple of times now, and when I have, I have actually FELT the prayers heal my heart!!
Thank you again, and I sincerely wish the best for you and your families this Holiday and throughout the new year!
