~~ You are the BEST!! ~~ 2|1|I just got finished with antibiotics for one of my many sinus infections. He told me to take mucinex ,drink lotsa water and use the saline nasal spray. That is part of my daily routine as I have chronic problems from allergies. I also went back to Vick's vapor rub under my nose. .|mugsmom|read2learn@netzero.net|09:07:49|12/16/2011|

Bring a kettle of cold water to a boil. Shut off the burner & inhale the steam for a few minutes, careful not to burn your face. It should help open up your sinuses a little better. You can do this a few times a day.
Drinking hot water might also help. I drink this alot in the colder winter mos. as it keeps me warm & hydrated at the same time. Hot/warm water is actually better for you than cold water.
If you live in an area of cold winters, keep an eye on the humidity level in your house during winter. Best level is around 55%. When the level gets below 50% the air will start drying out & irritating your nose, throat & sinuses, not to mention the mean "snappers" of static electricity. A warm steam vaporizer is a good, cheap way to help increase the humidity level. Just make sure to clean the water container w/mild bleach water after every couple of uses (rinse & dry thoroughly) so it doesn't get a chance to start harboring mold spores.

not sure what the real name is its like a little tea pot that you put saline solution in and pour it into your nose, I have never use one myself but have heard good things about them they clean out your sinuses.Linda 5|2|I think that using one of those in contraindicated while one has an active infection...pls check with your doc before using the Neti-pot type treatments.|saint6811|waylan@comcast.net|10:39:24|12/16/2011|
