It was a sad day here today, an elderly gentleman (around 85) was driving this morning with his grandson (grown not child) and for some reason did not see the railroad crossing lights blinking or hear the train whistle. He drove into the path of an oncoming train in front of my work this morning. Unfortunately, neither survived the crash. If you could just please take a moment to say a quick prayer for the family they both left behind.
Also, if anyone knows how we as a community can go about getting railroad crossing arms put in at this location, can you please share it with me? This is the second accident this year where someone has been killed at this particular location, and the 5th or 6th one in about 3-4 years, all at the same location. It baffles me how nothing has been done with the high number of accidents. Thank you.

I don't know how you would go about getting the needed signs, maybe schedule an appt with the mayor to discuss it? This is so sad and without the signs there will probably be more tragedies. this is so very sad. I know that they went to the town concel then were sent to a bunch of places. They never did get the arm and there have been so many more people killed there. They did find out that the train did not sound the wissle and in the other. They ened up talking to the mayor of the town. I hope that they can get this on fixed.

I really hope we can figure out a way to get them to put in the arms but everyone we talk to says its someone elses responsibility. I dont even know if we have town meetings, but I do know the mayor and he owns a radio station (small town politcs) so I plan on getting ahold of him that way.
