That I'm telling I'm the one that is the need for help. Here is my backgroud
I use to live in a nice house (rented)that was owned by my uncle. I lived there for two years. Was getting my life back in order. I found a job and everything was going good. Then my uncle decided to remodel the house and he said I need to leave in a week. Back up all my stuff in a week! I had no where to go, I was starting to get sick I thought it was the flu or something. So, I moved in with my friend that I use to know in high school. My son had to live with my brother and my 12 year old daughter and I moved in with my friend. I got very sick in August and almost died with massive blood clots in my heart, lungs and legs. My DR said I couldn't work anymore so I lost my job. I applied to SSI but was turned down. I had a little food stamps but since my friend doesn't want the family to know that I am living there I can't prove I am living there or paying him rent. So, they are taking away my food stamps and I can't work because it would kill me. Yes, I have a roof over my head and I share the internet and I could go to the food pantry to get food but I can't because one I got to show proof of my place and what I pay. Also my daughter has severe allergies I have to watch everything she eats. I'm trying to sell everything I own to put food on the table. Yes, I may sneak some of my room mates food to feed my daughter but the room mate is starting to notice and this is only temp to live here. I am late on my payments of rent too.

I saw post and post on here and didn't even read them because I could tell that some of it was probably going to make my own stomach churn and then I noticed your post and read it. I only have a very vague idea of what happened, but I want you to know that asking for help when you need it for your child is NOTHING to be ashamed of. There isn't ONE mother on here who wouldn't do the same if she had to.

And please don't give up on SSI or Soc. Security Disability. Alot of people are turned down on the 1st & even their 2nd attempts. I don't know why but I believe it's the SSA's way of weeding out frivolous applications & so that those who really need it will persist. If your dr. says you can't work, I would think that would be in your favor w/the SSA. But know that it's really not uncommon for people to be turned down at least once & possibly twice also. Keep appealing & if necessary, try to find an atty. that works for a contingency fee where he/she won't receive a dime unless your disability is approved. There are usually also Aging & Disability Agencies in most counties. You may want to try there 1st if you have one in your county & someone there will help you w/your disability claim. There is no fee.

I work at a public school and in the past 2 weeks I have found out alot about programs that I didnt even know were available, and the programs are federal funded so its the same rules anywhere across the united states. There is an act called the McKinney Vento, that you are qualified for since you are living with someone, this would open up alot of doors for you if you can go to the school and ask the liason about it or whoever is in charge of these types of things, your daughter/son will also qualify for free lunches and your school may also send backpacks of food home with kids that are in need, i know these are things we do at my school. we also just did a coat/food drive...just some suggestions

I really don't know what is in the food they serve and I have to be careful with anything I give my daughter. I even ask what was in the food and they looked at me like I had three heads. My Dr even wrote letters to DFS saying I need food stamps because my daughter has severe allergies but it didn't help. Thank goodness my daughter school serves free breakfast every morning at least she gets a good decent meal every morning. I even tried asking my family for help because I am getting really worried and desperate. They can't help me which is sad because when my mom was alive and they needed money here and there. Even if she could hardly give. When they have that here, you just have to show you live in the county. My family and I work it, when my boss sponsers it. Some people volunteer at it each month, because workers are first to go through line, if they want to.
