Friday afternoon and we get a call from the hospital..... we'll have to pay $1000 up front for the surgery on Tuesday. Now, I knew it wasn't going to be free or anything.... and I know we'll be billed more later for the rest. But the LOGIC of telling you on FRIDAY that they need the money by MONDAY....it doesn't even allow time for a bank transfer to become available!
They've had over a week to let us know this and they wait till Friday....in the afternoon? Is it any wonder the world uses credit cards??

Like I said...I expected to be billed for the surgery and I still expect that I will be billed more AFTER the surgery. Maybe I'm wrong and there is only a 1000 deductible on this particular surgery---but I know our overall deductible is higher...and we haven't met it (I personally pray we never do!!)
Don't get me wrong...I'm not saying I shouldn't pay for their services. I just wish they'd sent me something in the mail while they were sending us 4 sets of forms and papers to fill out in the past week and a half. A PHONE CALL with only half a day Friday...and all day Monday to figure it out is a bit harsh on the warning side. We've already planned most of Monday to be used getting set for a 2+ week down time. Having food cooked and frozen, ALL laundry done, dishes done, cleaning done....you name it getting set for 2 weeks off feet. Arm wrestling at various banks wasn't in the plans.
Like I said...I'm just glad the credit card had enough left on the limit to cover.
